What is best collar/harness for Dachshund?

I don't like the ones around the throat. She has a sensitive (maybe damaged) throat from previous owners using a choke chain on her. She is a rescue. I have been using the harness but leave it off most of the time because they are not long enough and chaff her under her front legs. Especially when we go for long walks. If I get a bigger one for length, it is too wide and big and slips around. Do they make harnesses or collars just for long Dachshunds. Never seen them at the pet stores here.

We use the ones in the link below. We have one mini and one standard Dachshund and they fit very well.

Clare, I have never used one of these but another forum I frequent highly recommends them. Seems to me to look pretty comfortable for them.

And bless you for taking in your rescue - what a wonderful forever home she's found in you!

Hi Clare, my weiner dog pulls and chokes himself on a regular collar. The "H" style harnesses chafe him behind the front legs. I found figure 8 style harnesses to work very well. And this mesh, no-pull one by Sporn is my favorite - but it's hard to find.

I just ordered a harness from noodleandfriends.com.
It sounded like the perfect dachie harnes to me.
