Pet Safe Ant Traps?

Posted by joyce58 (My Page) on

Our son's cat will be staying at our house while we all go on a week's vacation...A friend will be coming in to take care of him.
Since we live in the country, we are inundated with ants and now have plastic ant traps set out and also a DIY mixture of boric acid & sugar in cups.
I need to know what ant traps are safe while the cat is here . I certainly will not leave the boric acid solution out .
Thanks!
Joyce

nobody knows?

You might call a vet, but still, I would put something that's intended to kill something only in inaccessable places, like inside cabinets with childproof closures, etc.

hope you haven't given up & gone on vacation already.
Enjoy your trip!

I used a 50-50 mix of powdered sugar and 20 mule team Borax. The Borax is found in most grocery stores in the laundry detergent aisle it contains an organic mineral silica the ants come for the sugar and get covered they carry it back to the nest they rub themselves chronically the silica damages their hard exterior they die the entire nest dies
