LOL, sack hound sweetness!! Nothing like a midnight mushy moment to take in on the journey to the bathroom!

Having grown up with a dane in the household, I couldn't help but love that picture. Ours used to sneak up into the bed between my parents and one morning I remember my father, not noticing the hundred and fifteen pound dog stretched over his legs called for my mother in a panic and was yelling his legs were paralyzed. Mama came running, saw why he couldn't move and made the dog get down.

calliope's father must have been a VERY sound sleeper!

Great picture as usual!

Oh those danes are gentle, but persuasive and insistent. He used to turn on our floor fan with his nose and sit in a chair with his front legs on the floor and his fanny in the seat to enjoy the breeze. My mother went out and traded in our practically new sedan for a station wagon to haul him around in, and he automatically picked out the middle seat and I had to sit in the third tier.

I live vicariously through your beautiful, gentle giants. Man, they're wonderful dogs.

your mother sounds much like me. i recently traded my trailblazer for a mini van. after back surgery, i can no longer lift ashley's ample behind into a tall vehicle. now, she can get in and out all by herself and she's quite enamoured with it. if she hears the jingle of keys, she's all over that!

they truly are wonderful dogs, i can't see my life ever without at least one dane in it! :)
