Our 5 yr. old neutered Clancy has decided to use the dining room carpet during the night instead of the litter box...After a couple of times, I put newspapers down and he was OK. Then he went on the newspaper and this morning, went right beside the newspaper...I've even moved 1 of the 3 litter boxes into the dining room in hopes he's use that but there's that little pile every morning... Normally he sleeps with us, is so cuddly, and I don't know when he gets up to do this...We also have 2 females, spayed, and he doesn't get along with 1 and if she jumps on the bed, he does get very upset. But there again, she doesn't come to bed every night....This is driving us crazy and DH said it has to stop......Any advice will be appreciated....

Take him to the vet. It's not "bad potty behavior." Not using the litterbox can be indicative of a UTI. They can be painful so take him in ASAP.

The reason I thought it was bad behavior is that he uses the box all the other times...We have 2 other boxes and he does have a favorite which he runs to during the day...He's a very spoiled little fellow and I thought maybe he was showing us he was upset about something....

I still agree with Sephia. Rule out any medical reasons that could be behind the troubles.

If he uses the box all the other times, then not using it indicates what may be a serious and painful problem.
