Kitten food for adult cat

Gracie

We have a 7 month old kitten and a 3 year old. We feed them grain-free canned food only. The vet told us he didn't need kitten food, so they've been eating the same regular food. The kitten has had loose stools, so we were told by a vet tech to try Wellness Core kitten food, and it solved the problem!

Our picky eater Gracie loves the kitten formula. I've tried every pate style food out there, which she eats when the lid is popped open but loses interest on subsequent feedings. I understand the kitten food is higher in protein and fat, but is there any reason it can't be used as a daily food for her too? They also get a few shredded chicken and turkey varieties, but honestly, I think they're mostly gravy and I hate paying so much for canned water. Gracie isn't overweight--she weighed about 9 lbs. at her last vet visit a few months ago, and she never eats more than a 5 oz. can of food a day. So would it just be a case of monitoring her weight if she eats kitten food daily?
