Best Locking Dog Door

Posted by momqs (My Page) on

We are about to bring a new puppy into our home. She'll be around 30 - 35 lbs (we think a Wheaten Terrier).

We would like a dog door that has a lock to keep out other animals (ie is collar activated).

Do you have recommendations?

There are a couple on the market which have a mechanism on the dogs collar which will allow the dog door to open only for your dog....

Thanks. I've seen them - I'm hoping for brand recommendations.

I had a Staywell. It made a clicking sound when released and old dog was afraid of it, never used it.

When I got new dogs, they tore it up barreling through. Then Roxy chewed up Bo's sensor.

It actually worked if the dogs aren't too hard on it, and it didn't blow open like the one I have now. Seems like it was close to $200.00 for Rottweiler size.
