Sounds as if she is claiming you as hers. That means she thinks she is protecting her property and viewing you as a step below her on the ladder.

To stop the behavior, be more assertive in your control to stop her early before she starts to exhibit the unwanted behavior.

You do not have to be harsh, just do not allow her to start the behavior. Have her sit and do not allow her to move between you/others. This will take a while--maybe weeks. And you may have to make repeated corrections at first, so practicing with a friend/family member may help. Once you start a session, do not quit until she obeys.

Once the contact with others is over and she has not interfered, praise her---rewarding the wanted behavior.

Thanks. I will have the kids jump on me and grab at me and keep her at bay to learn that this is how we interact. She is incredibly smart (Border Collie) so I am guessing this will be relatively painless and quick. I just wasn't sure if this was "normal" behaviour. It's funny to think she is above me as she listens and obeys me so well.

What about having other family members have her do things, "sit", "stay", "come", whatever and then giving her a treat when she does? She needs to know she is low girl on the totem pole, not just second in command.
