That does seem like an early heat, and I know you will have her spayed right away, like you did the others (I hope that nobody here gives you a hard time about that).

Her growth should slow, but it's still hard to tell at that age how big she'll eventually get.

Yes, those early heats are always a shocker. She will probably grow a little more but always be petite. Nothing wrong with that!

I don't know if it differs with females, but my male kittens continued to grow rapidly until about 9 mos of age, in spite of being neutered at 6 mos.

She's still vocalizing and poor Rudi is still trying to figure out what's going on. Got an apt for MLK day when I will be off from work and can get her up there. It's been nearly 20 years since I took my first 2 girls to be spayed and in those days the general consensus was that a cat needed to reach full sexual maturity--i.e. a full heat--before spaying. Thus the waiting for Bonnie to come in along with Cleo.

However, after Cleo's 2nd heat happened over Thanksgiving break, and I spent 4 days dealing with operatic yowls and attempts to make love to the vacuum cleaner hose (her attempts, not mine) we were at the vet on MOnday a.m. ANd of course it never adversely affected Bonnie at all. Now I find out that it reduces their chances of breast cancer if you get it done earlier, so I'm feeling very neglectful. Wonder why no one at the vet office mentioned a spay date? I've certainly been in there enough in the past 3 months. (Let's just say that with everything that happened to me and the other 3, Sadie almost got rechristened typhoid mewy.)
