Kitty Cookbook?

I need one! Since Spirit (cat) has had a few health problems, I have been supplementing her diet with foods other than Little Friskies. But I have no idea what I am doing, nutritionally.

I have been giving her cooked beef, chicken, fish, chicken livers and half and half/and Lactaid. So far, no problems and she is putting on some needed weight. But am I making health problems down the line? My vet gave me kind of a non-answer.

It's difficult to formulate your own nutritionally complete cat food in a home made recipe. There is a lot to know. My suggestion would be to keep the home made stuff less than half since (I assume) Little Friskies is a nutritionally complete food for your kitty. I know you just want to pamper her.

That's just my 2 cents. Maybe more knowledgeable than me will chime in later. I hope so.
