How many bull frogs are too many???
Comments (23)By its own admission it appears that 'dirtslinger' has done exactly what it accused me of doing,__ introducing non native species. (http://forums2.gardenweb.com/forums/load/ponds/msg0322262730946.html) posted March 30, 2009 In reply of Mar 31, 09 at 11:03 it states: "These are not turtles found in this area- I really doubt in the wild they hibernate for 6+ months." Then take a look at thisabout the 'Red-eared slider' from Wikipedia: (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red-eared_slider) "It is a native of the southern United States, but has become common in various areas of the world due to the pet trade." And in the paragraph 'U.S. State Law': "Some states have other laws and regulations regarding possession of red-eared slider because they can be an invasive species_______". And as far as "Please stop spreading bullfrogs around!" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bullfrog "The American Bullfrog (Rana catesbeiana), often simply known as the Bullfrog in the United States, is an aquatic frog, a member of the family Ranidae, or "true frogs", native to much of North America."...See MoreMeyer lemons - how many is too many?
Comments (37)I have had a Meyer lemon for about two years- I’m guessing it was 2-3 years when I got it. It is grafted into an unknown rootstock. I bought it from my tree guy at the farmers market. Right now it is very healthy. It is about five foot tall and has about 40 grape sized lemons on it. It is still trying to bloom again and has a few babies as well. It dropped at least half of its baby fruits on its own. It is in a large terra-cotta pot. My question is this.... if I don’t want my tree to grow any more, should I forego thinning and just let all of the lemons mature? Does a tree drop larger than grape sized fruit? It is outdoors and gets lots of sun here in 7b. Also- I seem to have some tiny white flies in the dirt around the base and some spiders spinning webs to catch some random bugs that are on it. I’m not a huge fan of insecticidal soap. Any other suggestions for me. My first two summers with this tree were disappointing. One year I had about 5 good sized lemons and huge storm blew the tree over and knocked odd most of them, and last year I ended up with one lemon that refused to ripped for a year. It was not tasty....See MoreHow Many Decorative Mirrors Are Too Many?
Comments (45)I tend to choose mirrors over art. I like the way they play with light in our little cottage and reflect the outside views. I can count art on one hand, but I can't the mirrors! Mustang, your wall reminds me of something we did in our daughter's room. I started with them different finishes, but I ended up painting them all the same shade of white. It bounced the light beautifully. (BTW, I love looking at pics but am scared to death when it comes to sharing. This has always been our "we'll only be here awhile" house, so I've decorated with whatever I can find for pennies instead of what I want. Read: hodgepodge!) In our living room I've actually lost track of how many different mirrors we've used for a little while then moved. That room has great morning light, and I just can't help but fill it with mirrors. This was taken before everything was in the room, but......See MoreHow many exterior finishes is too many?
Comments (2)Hi, Nicole, You're right to be concerned about mixing materials on the exterior of your home. Our rule of thumb is to limit the exterior materials to a maximum of three. That said, simply limiting the number of different materials doesn't guarantee the combination is pleasing. If you have sufficiently thick skin, you can always post alternative elevations here on houzz.com for comments....See Morespiritual_gardner
