cat urine stain/odor on hardwood floor
Comments (7)Urine off is suppose to be a very good product. All the products like Urine off may have to be reapplied a few times if it is really bad. Very important to pour a lot of the product on so it will soak. Must air dry. Many people put plastic over it so the product doesn't evaporate. Should be soaking for as many hours as possible. These products don't work within a half hour. Nature's Miracle is also highly rated. Same principle as Urine off. If you have used Urine Off correctly and tried in a few times, try another product like Nature's Miracle. It is actually more important to get rid of the odor. Depending on a number of factors, you may or may not get rid of the stain. If the stain is only on your hardwood finish, sanding will remove it. If the stain goes down to the wood, it would have to be sanded and then try these products again. Last resort, use wood bleach or replace the boards....See MoreI need help on how to get cat urine odor out of concrete?
Comments (43)The reason Nature's Miracle says not to use any other method of cleaning is because they know you will use another method before buying it. Now they have an excuse as to why their product doesn't work. Nature's miracle is junk. My wife and I are current replacing flooring in our house. We adopted a 3 year old cat that was left behind after the owner moved. We found out why she was left behind. She pisses and poops everywhere. She had some kind of pancreatic issue and was on steroids her whole life. She died at the young age of 12. We loved her so we endured the daily treasures left behind. I would destroy another house full of flooring for that cat. It's a small price to pay for that unconditional love. This is Pita (acronym for pain in the arse)...See MoreHow to get cat urine off upholstery?
Comments (5)I've had similar situations with my dog (due to incontinence from medical problems). I have a microfibre couch, and the instructions say not to use anything on it. But I just had to, because of the stink of urine and the stain. Anyway, I use Nature's Miracle for any type of dog stain (urine, saliva..), and the couch still looks like new. Why don't you test the Nature's Miracle on a spot on the chair (or ottoman) that doesn't show and see what happens? Good luck!...See MoreHouse Training an Adult Dog
Comments (8)Dog naturally does not want to eliminate in his den space, that is why crate training could be so successful from the start. It is more difficult if dog was neglected and forced to soil his crate... I would think that you housebreak adult dog same way as you do young puppy. It is really important if you stick to a really tight schedule like taking out your dog every couple of hours or depending on the breed/ small dog small bladder capacity/ even more often. I would go as far as to say - take a week off vacation when you bring dog home and teach the right way you want things happen in the house. Don't deviate from the route- same door, same spot, same way- do it for about a week. Repeating a cue word during actual process is great help for the future. Keep the water on limited basis at least for the beginning couple of days- give him after eating, after runs but do not leave water all the time, take the water last time few hrs before going to sleep. Make sure your dog does do things outside, yes, it could be rain or snow but you plan to be determinate. Remove your carpets in the house if possible at least for the time being, leave as many surfaces that could be easily cleaned or let the dog run only in the area where it could be easily cleaned. Pet stores do sell cleanser but it still does not eliminate smell completely at least for the dog- I can not smell anything of course. you have not told us if the dog is soiling in the crate. If dog can keep his crate clean it is very easy to teach, just take your time and take the dog out, after he sleeps, eats, plays, starts running in the circles and sniffing the ground or couple of hours in the house. Do not teach dog to go on the newspaper or doggie pads if you can avoid it. If it is a senior dog you might run into incontinence or urinary trouble but that is something to discuss with your vet....See Morearteaction
