dog comes indoors & THEN pees ...

Usually female dogs are easy to train but we have a tiny 4 year old 7 lb. Miniature Pinscher that will come indoors & immediately go behind a couch, table, etc. & pee! When we grab her it is quite evident she knows what she has done (in a normal voice we will say 'who pee'd' & if she just has, her ears go back & she looks away.. otherwise she shows no reaction if she hasn't pee'd) but will do it again given the chance! She does go outdoors when she is outdoors & no problem. Any suggestions other than a diaper?

We had this problem with a 10 lb. mini Dachshund that we took in. His previous owners kept him in a closet and he learned only to pee inside. No matter how long he stayed out with us, he just wouldn't go. It was heartbreaking because he really tried - actually he succeeded once only because he couldn't hold it and we praised the daylights out of him - and he was happy - but he didn't retain the memory for long. He was fine medically, just scared to go outside - although his 3 Dachshund siblings did go outside and he watched them but just couldn't bring himself to do it. Finally in desperation, we used a metal trough type of thing with newspapers and pee pads. We didn't want to have to do this, but after a couple of years it became a serious problem. A very nice dog, just scared of peeing outdoors - pooping was not a problem - go figure. I hope you get your problem sorted out.

Guess with these dogs adopted from shelters or others we really don't know what they have been through or been treated. A friend has two tiny mixed breeds that were being taken into the local shelter when she asked if they were being given up? When the guy said 'yes, do you want them?' this friend took both of them! They too would just pee ir poop anywhere- inside or out!! She finally got an infant disposable diaper & cut it down to fit each of the dogs & put a disposable liner in each of them & it worked! Crazy to see the two little guys out in the yard wearing their diapers! Our little miniature Min-Pin is smart but stubborn as I KNOW she knows better than to 'go' indoors and her 8 pups (we kept one)all are housebroken.

You'd think people young or old would be more considerate when walking their dogs, some are and they are to be comended but not very many. We live right across the road from a lovely little nature park. We have a bylaw that all dogs must be on a leash, you must pick up after your dog and certain breeds must wear muzzles HA!!! For starters, we have a woman that drives down to the entrance of the park, walks her dog back up the side of the road to do it's business, no problem, she bags it, no problem. Then.... she flings it in the bushes rather than walking back to her car only a few feet away where she could deposit her baggie in the garbage can provided for such things. Hubby went out finally and had a few words with her, didn't work, she still does the same ol, same ol and has told people my DH is just a mean old man LOL. Ianna, hopefully you can find a product that will work, these kind of people will never change, but I'd bet my bottom dollar if someone was continually walking by their homes and defiling their property they'd be singing a different tune. He's just marking the bed as his territory. He doesn't know why you'd have a problem with that. If you wanted it -- YOU would have already peed on it... I have 11 dogs, down from 12. They are rescues and some are going to be rehomed and some are here to stay. When I had #12 she and her sister had pee wars on my bed and I was ready to kill them. 55 pound pit bull mixes make a lot of widdle! Now Katie is in her new home and Hannah no longer has to compete with her so the sprinkling has stopped. They do still pee on the dog beds though especially my domiant tiny Shih tzu/Yorkie girl. Get your little darling neutered when its time and make it plain the bed is YOURS and not his and it will help. I'd also block access to the bed until he is older. By the way doing dominace rolls with a small puppy can scare him. They are falling out of favor as a way to deal with breeds like Rotties and pits and that's not a bad thing. My dog, Chester has just moved to NY from CA after living with my sister for 6 years. She has a young baby and thought it best for all involved to let me adopt him. He is with us for 4 months now and seems very well adjusted and happy and wagging his tail often. Since it is summertime, we tend to go on weekend trips and take Chester with us. Everytime we go to someone's house, Chester will appear calm and happy and in good spirits and then several hours later, he will take to a "long pee" in the guests home on their carpet. What can I do to prevent this behavior? I would rather not crate him as he is good 99% of the time. Suggestions?

Thanks all for ur comments , I read them all very carefully and giving them all lots of thoughts but I need to tell u all about what went on the last few ours and I hope to know what u think she finally make pee one time but great amount on the artificial grass I have on the hole of my house with plastic underneath so it will not leak the pee and which I sprayed with potty training spray for dogs then i I gave her dinner on time and she eat and drink some , then I took her for a 3 hours walk , I tried concrete , grass , sand grounds .. Each for almost 1 hour , and I even run with her for a while , and she did not make any pee or poop during all of this , finally I covered my car seat with some cloth and took her for a ride with slow speed , all I got is vomiting .. But very small amount not the same yesterday and most of the rode she was setting not laying down like yesterday and she even jumped out of the car when I asked her and I did not carry her down like before . I do not know what all of this mean , is it good or bad , and why she is not passing poop i got a number for a dog trainer but he can not visit us before next Monday ! now what should I do , why is holding the poop even outdoors she is happy and running and playing with us and following us around the house , eating but I think she is not eating enough , she sleeps at night at least 5 hours straight and then she sleeps on and of through the day , maybe 20 to 30 min naps around the day What u all think !?!?!

A visit to the vet to make sure the animal is healthy, then to a dog obedience or behaviorist. Don't let your dog rule your life.
