Pitbull Wolf Mix Puppies

This was posted on another forum. advertizing this mix on a bullatan board.

Would you want one of these puppies?

I think it sounds like a lawsuit in the making and just downright dangerous but i could be wrong. Has anyone ever had one of these crosses?

Actually, it was posted on this forum.

Whether or not the puppies actually are that cross, that's obviously aimed at the pumped up, gangsta-wannabe crowd.

In our county it is illegal to own a part-wolf dog. I am sure this is the case elsewhere as well... just another way to ruin the bull breed dogs. Truly sick, a wolf is a wild animal.

Hey sorry I haven't gotten back sooner I was having computer issues. We considered the possibility that she would be better in another home but decided, together, to keep her. We put her on her old food and she's not been throwing up since. We're mixing it with new food, IAMS (vet said to go with Hills but I educated my mom on who trains vets in nutrition). I was giving her the milk we drink but not to sustain her, just a small bit to keep hydrated when throwing up. Now she drinks water. Having three 8 week old puppies was too much at the time but now that Peanut and Punkin are almost two years old they are not as dependent and are house trained (well Peanut still goes inside if you don't see her heading to the back door) and have taken more to the puppy now. They play together a lot especially outside and there is harmony in the kitchen at meal times. I've read up on the breeds and know that early socializing and discipline are needed to have this dog's respect. I believe that she will need a long walk in the morning and evening (45 mins each time at least) and I can challenge her more if I get her a backpack when she's older. She had her first shots two weeks ago and I really want to get her walking but beegood mentioned about sidewalks and Parvo so I was wondering if anyone knows how long before I can take her outside and when she can meet other dogs? Also she has really short soft fur and seems to get cold very easily. I bought a small jacket but its light and goes over her back mostly. Should I wait until the weather gets warmer?

I can tell ya right now that if it were a pitbull, it'd have been up and over your fence 10 times over by now, more than likely. My large old and moldy pitbull mix, could still scale the fence if he really wanted after something in the alley or across the fence. And he is dog agressive if they're out in the yard or alley way. This being why we don't leave them out alone, at the sound of ANY bark, they both come in, even though the most my beagle will do, is run yelping in the other direction. For my dogs safety and the other owners saftey, I bring them in. My dog could most likely hurt, (or worse) most dogs that come through our alley, if he chose to. We don't let him get to the point where he's snarling and trying to take the fence down. We have a neighbor who has a lab two houses away who is VERY dog agressive, and they allow him to roam free and I'm surprised he hasn't been hit. Well, the first time I noticed this lab, he was outside my yard and my pitbull mix was half way up the gate. Since then I check for the lab before I let him out of the kennel (they ALWAYS go in the kennel before they play in the yard, as I can leave him in there and not worry). If the lab is out, big guy comes straight in. If your neighbors dog IS a pitbull, you're dealing with lock-jaw if it ever gets to your dog, so if you're not going to break the behaviour immediately, by correcting it, I suggest you watch your chows like a hawk, because I don't think you want to pry a pitbull off your chow, or any dog for that matter. While your neighbor SHOULD be responsible for their dogs, don't count on it. Don't rely on a nice happy meeting that ends in results with the fence or the dogs. Worry about your dogs on your side of the fence, because you can only correct their behaviour, not expect the neighbor to do anything.

lazygardens...well, I would not DARE put down a large bowl of food for him, our big dog left behind 1/2 his food in the bowl one day, DH "accidentally" put it back on the food stand, and little PETE helped himself to it, and before I caught him, he had inhaled most of it. His belly was so full he could hardly move, everytime he was picked up, he belched and grunted. He was miserable til mid way through the next day. He has no shut off valve ;) I did speak to our vet this morning when I dropped him off for his Mitiban spa day, and he said that he thought the puppy chow was fine, described it as a middle of the road brand. He mentioned that Purina pro plan would be good to use also. I have always wondered about the true validity of what makes the "gourmet" brands better. To be honest, I have read horrible things about ALL kibble and what goes into it. I seriously doubt any of it is truly good. But raw feeding, I'm not sure about either. dont want to start a controversy on feeding practices here, (yet ;) but I am curious as to what supposedly makes one brand better than an other, since the truth is that NO ONE can be assured of what is really going into these pet foods. PS: he has gained 3 pounds in the past week or so! I call that growing to be sure. When he started the dips 3 weeks ago he weighed 10. something now he's 13.2!!

From what I have read on canine development, puppies who bite too hard often have been taken away from their mother and siblings too young. As others have said, a puppy's siblings will yelp if the bite is too hard and will refuse to play. That is intolerable to a pup, so it learns to moderate its bite and to play nicely with others. This lesson is used throughout the dog's life and is known as "bite inhibition." It keeps a puppy from biting its family too hard, a young dog from biting playmates too hard, a grown dog from biting the had that is giving a treat, and a family dog from chomping down on the hand of a toddler who has put it where the dog does not want the toddler to touch, as the dog tries to move the hand away! Yelping immediately when teeth touch you, turning away and stopping the interaction with the puppy, gives it the message that teeth on skin means all good things stop. Whether this is a good dog for you or not, I don't know. I would get the advice of a behaviorist. You might try to find a puppy play group where Molly can spend a few hours at a time, too, if you keep her. This would have to be with an experienced dog facility. I have found doggy day care to be the best thing for improving behavior at home. "A tired dog is a good dog." I believe that the standard is that no puppy should leave its litter mates and mom before 8 weeks of age. Some breeds may have an even older recommended adoption age. But always ask how old the pup was when it was surrendered. Look elsewhere if it was less than 8 weeks old. I wish you and Molly and your family the best!

I think it would be a disaster waiting to happen! Wolves are wild animals and to breed one with a domestic dog in my opinion is stupid,reckless and irresponsible. I'm a firm believer that wild animals always have that wild instinct no matter what they are mixed with. The fact that they were bred to a breed already known for having reputations for their agressive behavior is unbelievable to me. I certainly would never have a dog of that mix,but that's just my opinion.

I curently own a FEMALE pupp of 2 week short of three months.. i had her since ahe was 3 WEEKS.. The mother of my dog is Half wolf and some sort of stray dog.. however the dad is pitbull.. im NOT AHURE how much wolf is in her but after research EVEN AT THIS AGE u can see what they mean about there temperment and behavior.. unfortunetly she had a brother that looked to be more wolf than dog- HE EVEN HOWLED not barked but we lost him to parvo.. she dont realy seem as an agresive dog YEt anyways she is very protective and due to her wolf side she RARELY barks.. litterly a few times a WEEK if that.. i owned dogs all my life and u can see witj this breed that yes there more into sociolisom then being ur pet.. shes potty trained but due to the wolf aide u cant realy FULLY POTTY TRAIN.. meaning ahe has the hole rutine down.. but If ahe dont want to go out side ahe wount.. again research says they are beat in they territorry.. verry true. At this age i have no fence but some how she loves to stay out side in whats our propperty too..
ONE MAJOR DETAIL IS THAT a dog want u to play and please u as this seems she wants u to JOIN IN or join in what ever ur doin.. u cant teach them to do trick as THERE NOT DOGGS - and this was an ACCIDENTAL mix.. i got the dog from a familly member.. he got his wolf dog because we live in arizona

I have had one previous dog that we ALLWAYS belived was part wolf because hes agresiveness attitude temperment and tendency to suddenly pray on small animals. It wasnt after putting him down that the vet. REASURED US that yes indeed he was half wolf half chow and germansheaperd.. so i have experions in handleing the breed but i am NO EXPERT OR PRFESIONAL.. the previous dog was more wolf then the female i have now and YES he would turn on me growl and T times BITE..but i belive that due to me being its owner and NOT SHOWING FEAR is the only thing that keeped him from clenching down on the bite. Or from REPEDITTLY bitting.. however ONE ADVANTAGE is the breed sees u as family as part of the pack.. so there more than just having a dog it truelly is like having another family member.. which is why i considered getting this female.. shes 1/3 wolf 1/3 pit 1/3 chow mix.. i figured i have experience.. i do know how to deal Nd handle the breed and the pit bull since im not having a pit to fight every one else.. PITS ARE VERY PROTECTIVE Nd thats a quallity this dog has from day one.. ITS REALLY as having another child.. in ever way shape and form.. any forther questiond be free to email..
