| My nephew will be 1 in December and my mom (his grandma) wants to get him a little trike or similar toy for Christmas or his birthday (also in December). He is already walking (and running), and jumping so he is a little ahead though he is not big for his age. I saw the Fisher-Price 'Ready Steady Ride-on' but read a few reviews saying it isn't steady, but many other reviews saying that kids love it.
I'm wondering what your kids' (and yours) favorite ride-on (or ride in) toys are. I don't think he's ready to push pedals but he is very active, can climb a slide by himself, etc. Something safe, durable and fun. Thanks,

| A Wagon is great!!! I got a bunch of toys to help my daughter walk (you know push toys etc.) and she hardly plays with them because she can walk on her own now! My brother did get her a "big girl bike" which she is way to little for, but she loves to sit on it and have us push her around. Go for the wagon! |

| Hi Jen, My 2 year old son loves his "Cozy Coupe" (a red and yellow car). My 1 1/2 yr old daughter loves it too. That's all they play with outside, but now that it's getting cold here in NJ, I will clean it off and bring it in. No pedals and it's easy to get in and out of. You also don't have to worry about it tipping over and stuff either. It's great. It's a saving grace for me.LOL Good luck. |

| I have 3 kids and my oldest (age 7) was given a Cozy Coupe when he was around 1. Well-we still have the toy. Our 5 yo loved it until he was to big and now my 2 yo loves it. It is a great value as far as toys go. There aren't that many things (the Brio trains are the only others I can think of) that we are still using 6 years after we got it. Mommabear |

| Go for simplicity! At the young age of only 1...though he may be walking, running, jumping,,it is best to give him the chance to CONTINUE building his motor skills, both large and small...non motorized are best, aim for ride on toys that require him to push himself, etc.. Little Tikes makes a GREAT simple ride on toy, selling for about $20-no pedals, push only..Our son LOVES it! He now also has the Police Car version of the COzy Coupe..and spends HOURS pushing it around the house! Happy Toddlers ! |

| I have Fisher-Price's rock, roll and ride. I love it because when DD scoots too far away from me, I can push her back easily with the handle. My DD likes it so much she often wants to bring it inside, which we sometimes allow because we can set it up as a "rocker". It is a good beginner trike. When she is a little older we will move on to more sophisticated machinery, but for now, this works for us. DD is 16 mo, but we have used it since she was 12 mo. |

| Smaller scooters with lower power output (100W-350W) are great toys for children who wear proper safety gear and are responsible enough to know how and where to operate their scooter. Electric scooters are simple, so you don�t have to know how to adjust your carburetor like you would with a gas scooter, and they are also quiet so your neighbors won�t complain. One downside of electric scooters for kids is the battery will always run out of juice before the kid does. |

Our 1 year-old boys have a ride-on car that shoots balls out. They put the ball in and pull a handle to shoot it out. They enjoy it, but they much prefer this y-bike. I think it is easier to maneuver and they can get more speed with it- especially on our Pergo hallway. Highly recommend.  |
