Thomas the Tank Engine?

My grandson is 2 1/2 yrs old and his favorite thing in the world is the Thomas trains, videos, books, etc. I would like to get him some clothes, maybe t-shirts, pj's and shoes. Does anyone know any store that sells the Thomas the Tank Engine apparel? Appreciate it very much! tish

My 3 yo ds and 17 mo ds both love him. They are going to be Thomas and Percy for Halloween. Target sells shoes and clothes with him on it. I bought a t-shirt online last year at I think "The Thomas Store" . Just do a google search.

Also, if you get the chance, do this. A full size Thomas travels around the country to various places and takes everyone on a 30 minute train ride. We took the kids to "A Day Out with Thomas" in Durango, CO. earlier this year. It was a lot of fun for everyone even the adults. We were surprised that there was so much stuff to do like meeting Sir Topham Hat,playing with the Thomas toys in the Thomas Store, and looking at things in the train museum. We were there for about 2 hours and I didn't see a single child crying. Of course, the Thomas Store has a ton of clothes and toys that the kids want, but we were able to buy the kids a souviner t-shirt there. Here is the 2003 schedule.

Thank You! That site was so great! Unfortunately there are no appearances scheduled near here, maybe next year. It sounds like something my grandson would really like. I will check our Target, I had not looked there yet. Take care. tish

Happy late Birthday, little Benbear!! Looks like he is one happy little dude! I love his cake, so cute! I can so relate to the Thomas the Train obsession, my son,(who is now 20) would watch it over and over and over!! Thank goodness they had come out with the recordable VHS tapes so we could tape them. He would even start to tear up when he knew they were about to end. He saw the Barnum and Bailey circus train pass in front of us at a trainstop one time and he about climbed outta his carseat, he wanted to get on that train so bad. He done his "shadowing " in High School for the railroad company here in town for two years, he wanted to become a conductor. They recently moved the school to another state and you have to relocate and then be placed there, so he went into computer networking and (sob) there went his lifelong dream. He is such a homebody, he couldn't see moving that far away with slim chance of coming back. So, be careful with Ben, his love of trains may be around for awhile! Babs, just put my face on Steve Martin's body...lol. Allrighty then...suffice it to say I've got gardening out of my system for the time being. It's overcast, windy and raw. There is still too much ice and snow on the ground to clean up any perennials or leaves but I did cut back a couple of grasses and a few taller things before retreating back inside. Better bundle up for my walk this afternoon. Brrrrr...I was going to start coppicing shrubs but as Chelone mentioned, the high here for Tuesday is only supposed to be around 20 F with a dip to almost 0 F at night. Best to wait another week and see how things look then. Why can't I ever be happy with the status quo? In less than an hour outside I decided my side garden needed to be totally redesigned. Now that the hot tub and patio are over there I need more privacy and the current arch, low shrubs and perennials just don't do it. The good news for Tom is I think we can move that arch over to the side walkway so he won't have to build one. Monique, you can have all the Homegoods stuff you want just stay away from Broken Arrow, Quacking Grass and all the other good nurseries this spring until I've had a chance to get there....lol. Hope you and Les feel better soon. Mary, could the violin teacher be away? Maybe she doesn't have room on her schedule and has inquired to others and they haven't gotten back to her. It would be rude of her not to respond and based on your description she doesn't sound like that sort of person. At any rate, a plan B is always good to have but certainly don't feel embarrassed or foolish-that's not like you. Darn, Chelone, I thought your Tabouli had onions...onions make me gag, scallions I don't mind. Pooh, I should have tried some. Cynthia, I saw the perfect arch for you at Trudi Temple's garden on one of our IU3 stops this past July. Custom may be the way you'll have to go. Boy Zoe is driving me nuts today. She just can't lay down and relax. She walks aimlessly around the house-in and out of the rooms over and over. Right now she's looking at her bed but can't seem to get herself to step onto it or lie down. Oh, she just walked away. None of this is frantic at all-just strolling with frequent stops to sniff this, that or the other thing or look out a window. When she does go down she goes out like a light-probably from exhaustion. Oh goody, here comes Tom with my afternoon caramel macchiato from Starbucks. Sue

Astrokath, somehow your post slipped in stealthily between Annpan's and Carolyn's about their dads' gusto storytelling. It wasn't visible to me before today. It's a good thing that I like to reread threads or I would have missed your response entirely. 2004! Wow, it's been fourteen years since you began working at the bookshop. I remember when you first told us that you were considering taking the job, and all of us RPers told you to go for it. We thought it sounded great for you. We must have been right! :-) Kath, I like to associate books with particular people. I'm not sure why I recalled your Tess remark so vividly except it was amusing, although it was about a book I liked and you didn't. Of course I also link you with the Outlander books, the Morland Dynasty series (btw, I've read through the twentieth one; I think it's called The Winter Journey), and The Assassin's Cloak: An Anthology of the World's Greatest Diarists. The last one I frequently dip in and dip out. I remember now that you liked Leon Uris a lot. I often make note in my book logs who mentioned such-and-such books and authors. I also note who liked what or sometimes who didn't like something. I probably would see your name many times in my records.

Adella - Thank you so much for the info on Thomas! My 20 month old son is just getting interested in Thomas so I am new to all this stuff! I went to that web site and discovered that he will be in Grapevine, TX - not that far from us. My husband is so excited about it. When I told him, he said, "Can we go?! Can we go?! Please!" Looks like I have two little boys! So we will be going to see Thomas. Thanks again for the info. ~ Suzie

Check ebay for Thomas the Tank clothing - you can always find great stuff there!

NotEnoughRoses - I hope you have a good time. We sure did. The kids are asking to go back and do it again.

I was looking around and found a neat Thomas site. This would be great if anyone were having a Thomas themed b-day party or some of the stuff is just for fun.

Adella - Thanks again for posting the info regarding A Day Out With Thomas. We just got back a couple hours ago - little one is still napping from his very full morning! He had a ball. We had to park a couple blocks away and were walking toward the the train station - I spotted Thomas and pointed him out to my son, who instantly got so excited! His eyes were big as saucers and stayed that way all morning. We were there almost three hours and didn't get around to watching the videos or sitting in on the storytelling. They are still going to be in town tomorrow so I think we may go back, just for the storytelling. There was just so much to see and do, especially for a little one. I think he was overwhelmed at times. We had had several people tell us (after we had bought tickets) that we should wait and do it when our son is older, but I am glad we went. Sure, son won't remember it, but he had a great time. Okay, have to say - aside from seeing Thomas, his favorite part was probably the petting zoo... Oh, well. He's a farm boy at heart and likes animals! ~ Suzie

My kids were the same way. My 3 yo was so overwhelmed he squenched his eyes up and put his hands over them the first time we saw Thomas coming down the track. Sir Topham Hat awed him too. We took lots of pictures and I put some in each of their scrapbooks. My 18 mo still gets really excited when we look at pictures and the 3 yo keeps telling me that we need to go back and do that again.

There's a store in Canton, TX that has the widest variety of Thomas stuff in Texas, perhaps anywhere. The website is limited, but the store itself has lot of thomas clothes from size 12 mos. to even a few adult items.
