A question about baby clothing sizes

Hi everyone
I'm writing to ask a question about clothing sizes for babies. I have no children of my own but am buying presents for my niece who is expecting a baby (boy) in October.

Normally I buy gifts in larger sizes in case the baby is larger than expected so the clothing items will fit... if not at birth then eventually.

However among the items is a one piece long sleeved baby suit that comes in sizes 3 mos and 6 mos. Because this item would only be suitable for wear during the cold winter months, which do you all think would be the safer bet? My niece lives in New England so we are talking about cold winter temperatures. I'm leaning toward ordering the 6 month size, but would like to run it by those who know first. Any advice would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I don't know what you mean by a baby suit, but I could see a long sleeved outfit being worn in the New England spring too. So go ahead and buy it.

6 months for sure!
