Bedtime prayers with your kids?
Comments (9)We were never a family to recite rote prayers - most of them are too scary for children. We simply gave thanks for the day and asked for blessings for family and for those in need. That "Now I lay me down to sleep" is just plain scary in it's first iteration. It's a bit better with the "See me safely through the night", but even that implies that something might happen during the night. I've never been a fan of recited prayers, and I never will be....See MoreBoost your Routine. A Brand New Detergent Discovery!
Comments (189)Did a load of dishes with Bubble Bandit last night. At first glance, everything looked amazing. However, as I was unloading things, I noticed that anything with a small amount of food on it, didn't wash away. :/ There was also a horrible streak on two glasses. Re-Washed everything this morning with Cascade Gel + STPP, and once again Spotless. I just don't get that Bubble Bandit stuff. :(...See MoreWhat is your "deep clean" routine?
Comments (54)In our old house, I had to give my dog a bath in my kids' bathroom. She would stay in there to dry for a few hours, so washing those walls was imperative! I read Marie Kondo's book about organizing your home. It was a game changer for me. Reduced clutter and simplifying your home goes a LONG way towards cutting down on cleaning time. Still, I too am neurotic about a clean home, We just moved into a new build and I underestimated how much added time craftsman style trim adds to my dusting! Typcially, I try to wipe down all surfaces (sinks, kitchen counter) each night. I have three kids (two boys who have "lightsaber wars" while going to the bathroom....don't ask!) so scrubbing toilets happens twice per week at a minimum. Floors get cleaned weekly. I wipe down cabinets and trim as needed. We have a lot of dark wood so dusting is far more frequent than I'd like!...See MoreWhat is your spring fertilizer routine?
Comments (14)I'm sure there will be others with differing opinions but root stimulators of any kind have little horticultural merit. And I don't mean rooting hormones used when taking cuttings....that's a different situation. But there's any number of these products on the market and the advertising and reviews make them sound like they are some sort of magic plant potion when in reality a healthy rooted plant needs no other encouragement to grow well other than light, water and decent soil :-) There has been no scientific testing to substantiate any of the claims these products make and they generally contain nothing special that would account for so-called 'remarkable' results other than wishful thinking. I wouldn't go out of my way to purchase any but if you already have it, I doubt it would hurt to use it. One thing that HAS been well-established is that newly planted plants should not be fertilized and since this is a weak fertilizer in some respects, I would not recommend using it on new stuff. Which kind of defeats the whole intent of the product :-))...See Moregardenandcats
