head cold and blood in nose

| My daughters baby has cold in his head and having a little blood show from his nose. Is that normal? She is using ocean saline and syringe that she got when he was born. He is 1 year old. I can't help but worry a lot. |

| That's not unexpected since there are a lot of superficial capillaries in the mucous membranes of the nose and they can bleed easily. A cold is very irritating to those membranes. It's alarming, but shouldn't be a problem and should heal up as the cold goes away. |
