I use swiffer and a damp, almost dry microfiber cloth. I do not use and kind of spray as they cause a build up on the funiture.

Sponges are horribly filthy- they hold bacteria even if you put them in the micro/dishwasher. I thought so too! But then I read a USDA report on putting sponges in the dishwasher with a hot dry cycle, and it said that it sterilized the sponge. I didn't believe it. So I let a sponge get stinky, brought home agar plates and sterile swabs from work (I teach physics and my lab is right next to the bio lab) and I streaked a plate. I put the sponge in the dishwasher with the heated drying cycle, and then streaked another plate. The first one was covered with colonies as you'd expect; the second was clean. Nothing was growing. It looked untouched. I had to change my tune. The dishwasher does a good job when you use the heated drying cycle. In fact, here's the USDA paper's conclusion: "Thus microwave heating and dishwashing with a drying cycle proved to be the most effective methods for inactivating bacteria, yeasts and molds on sponges. These simple and convenient treatments can help ensure that contaminated sponges don't spread foodborne pathogens around household kitchens of today's busy families." I thought it was wood when I saw it. I've had on my Amazon wish list some big heavy duty metal clothespins that I thought would be good for when we air out a heavy wool blanket. Otherwise, we just use about 30 pins to really hold it. Something unusual (and also heavy) that I put on the clothes line is a big sheet of agricultural mulching plastic. You know-- a heavy duty sheet of black plastic. I use it every couple of years and at the end of the season hang it on the clothesline to hose it off and then dry it....I've had tents, tarps, and mosquito netting on the clothes line, too. There is someone in the US who home manufactures clothespins. I think they cost about $8 each. But they have really strong springs and wood. You can save money by buying them from him non-assembled....You can see wimpy clothes pins annoy me, eh? I probably have a bookmark for those, but I'm not going to go looking just now.

I spend as little as possible on clothes. And shoes. I wear them to death. For work, I wear Worthington work pants and company paid for tops. Easy. Outside of work, jeans and a shirt. Simple,flattering t-shirts. I pay maybe 5 to 8 bucks apiece for them. I own 3 pairs of shoes,my walking shoes, a pair of flip flops, and the sandals I wear to work. I wear SOs old work boots when I have to work in the garden. They are way to big and its not always easy to move around in them, but they work for that purpose. At home I live in pajama pants or yoga pants and tank tops. I probably have more money in pajama pants than real pants. I dont know the amount but I am certain I have spent more money on mulch than clothes this year. And every year probably. I just don't care. As long as they are clean, fit well and in good condition I think its acceptable to wear. I care nothing for what the fashion elite would say about my clothes. The only time I "splurge" on clothes is if they are seasonal. I have lots of halloween and christmas t-shirts and tops. I just don't feel right not taking full advantage of the opportunity to wear such fun clothes. But other then those, yeah, I am not paying more than 10 bucks for a shirt.
