Napping problem

| The last few months my 21 month old son always awakens from naps crying and irritable. He often resists the nap, even though I know he's tired, and will even cry for a few minutes in the crib before he decides to go to sleep, usually around 2 pm. The naps are getting pretty short, from 3/4 to 1 hour. It seems like when he awakes that he's not really "done", and in fact when I nurse him immediately after he wakes up he'll often fall into a light sleep for a while (as long as I don't pull my nipple out). When he wakes up in the morning, he's always cheerful and well rested, so I can't figure out what's going on. I'm sure it will pass, as all things seem to, but I'd sure like to make this easier for him - any suggestions or comments? |

| Boy, Terri, I wish I could get him to take 2 naps a day! No, it's not his teeth. There's nothing coming in, and this has been happening for at least 4 months. |

Hmmm...I sometimes have to make Kamren stay down for a nap. make him lay back down, cover him back up..turn on his "noise" makers.... He doesn't always take two naps, depends on when he gets up, when he goes down for nap #1 and how long it is.. if it's an early day, I can usually get 2 45 minute naps a day... Today it was one at around 11:15 until just about 2. No second nap today... |
