Hostess gifts for shower

You will have to excuse me because I posted this on the entertaining forum as well . . . but I just wasn't sure how much cross over there is and this applies to both!

I am being honored with a baby shower by my MIL friends in a couple of weeks. I need to get gifts for the 10 hostesses for the shower. I am thinking of doing chocolates since there are so many hostesses, but I want to make them seem special. I love these:

But I would prefer something in the $5-8 range instead of the $10-13 range since I have to buy 10 of them.

Any ideas for "pretty" chocolates that I can order on the internet?

I think we need more information. You are pregnant and they are giving you a baby shower, right? Why are you buying gifts for the guests at a shower given for you?

She is getting gifts for the hostesses.
I would go to the Russel Stover dealer and buy a mini package. They don't expect a big lavish gift....you just want to give a small token of appreciation.

You know, if these girls are going off to college soon, a 'dorm survival kit' might be a fun little gift. When I moved into the dorms for college, things like thumbtacks, rubber bands, paper clips, duct and Scotch tape were always in short supply and high demand. Everybody remembers a clock radio but no one thinks of an extension cord. Perhaps not the most fun stuff but very practical to have those sort of things you always took for granted at your parents' house.

I will be traveling by air, staying with two separate families for a few days. How do I wrap hostess gifts in my checked luggage without the boxes becoming smashed? If I wait to wrap them when I arrive, I will need scissors and scotch tape, which I don't want to pack.

Are you saying this is one of those little grocery store roses that start to die before all the buds open? I've heard people say they plant them outside and they thrive. I'd say yours is thriving! The pale pink ones are just too cute and it looks like there are a couple of wee miniature Abraham Darby's above those. What darling little garnishes for tea sandwiches or the buds frozen in ice cubes for lemonade.

Now I wish I had waited to get something. Went to Lowe's after meeting up with the people doing my bathroom and they had tons of beautful Poinsettas in front. I got myself a Christmas cactus because they remind me of Germany. Had a few in my apartment. I also decided on a flooring for the bedroom.

What about Godiva or Ghiradelli in the mall? I would imagine you could find something there in your price range. Christy :)
