in serious need of enfamil coupons!! help

Three months ago I unexpectedly acquired custody of my niece and nephew. My niece was just 2 DAYS old and nephew is 4 yrs old. The state placed the children in our custody, but yet doesn't seem to help with much expenses on the care/providing of the children. Our little one drinks Enfamil w/Iron, and she is a BIG eater. She was born at 6lb 15 oz one month early w/cocaine in her system! And now at 3 mo old, she weighs a whopping 16 pounds!! If anyone can help it would be GREATLY appreciated! God Bless.

I don't know where you live but could you try to apply for WIC? It's based on income and maybe your family would qualify? They may also take into account that you were given custody of these two children and need some help. I would try calling the office in your area and see what you can come up with. They won't supply you with all the formula this little one will need, but it will help you out greatly. Just be thankful she's on Enfamil. My son took Nutrimigen and it's about $20 a can! It also happened to be at a time when my fiance, his father, was making about $7.50/hr. and that was our only income. We made it though. Good luck and I think its wonderful that you took on the huge responsibility of your neice and nephew.

$20 per can!!?? I definitely would be broke then! Thanks for the info. I have applied for WIC and other assistance, it's just a long process sometimes. They did say that WE didn't qualify, but did take in to consideration the situation....thank goodness. Thanks again.

Hi Shaughnn- Thanks for responding. I am a complete novice with any of these tiling terms so I will do the best I can. Our installer has taken out only the floor tiles in the shower around the drain for about a foot as this is the only area where the grout has washed away (both times). He has removed them and underneath those I see what looks to be grout or grout and tiles. He's coming back Friday so I can't ask him what that is till then, but it is whatever you put over the shower pan. These must be the pan tiles you refer to??? He's not removing them, just the decorative tiles which make up the shower floor in that area. Is this making sense to you? He removed the decorative shower floor tiles yesterday and we have a fan on the shower floor to be sure all is dry underneath. I seriously doubt there was any water standing when he installed the floor originally. Could it have been damp when he grouted the 2nd time after it originally washed away. Could have been as he did not remove the floor tiles then, just regrouted. As for waiting until using the shower after grouting and sealing, we waited 3-4 days which is what he told us to do. (We do what we're told, believe me!) How long should we wait this time?????. We have 2 other bathrooms with showers, so we will wait as long as you tell us to. I had already decided we would wait a lot longer than what we were told to wait these other 2 times which was 3-4 days Actually I think we even waited several days longer the 2nd time he grouted and sealed. We'll wait as long as you say and probably longer than that. (: This just has to be the last time this happens!

I love the way my potroast is made. First, I have found that bottom roasts have a bit more fat than top roasts and beat any other kind of meat for flavor and juiciness. I put it in the crockpot fat side up on high for 10 hours. I use one box of chicken broth (never made it with the beef broth, but don't fix it if it ain't broke!), pour it over the roast. Then I mix 1-2 packets (depending on the size of the roast) of Lipton Onion Soup Mix in a large cup and mix that with about 2 cups of water. Pour that over the roast, making sure some of the onions are on the top of the roast. Cover and in 10-13 hours (no such thing as overcooking this kind of roast!) and then remove the meat, cut away any fat and then make gravy. I empty the juice from the crockpot into a big saucepan and bring to a low boil. I take about 2-3 tablespoons (depending how thick you want the gravy) of flour and put it in a seal-tight container with about a cup of water. Put the lid on and shake it hard for about 1-2 minutes. This will prevent lumps. Then add the flour-water mixture to the grave SLOWLY while stirring constantly. Let it cook for about 3-4 minutes, season with beef bouillion and pepper to taste. I get rave reviews of my gravy and I make a lot of it for leftovers. The meat is stringy but so tender and juicy. We like to bake a loaf of crusty bread, cut it in slices and make open-face sandwiches with it. If there is still some left, I mix the rest of the gravy with the leftover roast (cut into pieces) and fold it into cooked dumpling style noodles. SO SO good. Any questions just ask!

If breastfeeding is important to your friend, I would tell her to not give up. It took me 6 weeks to get my baby to latch on properly. I had to supplement with pumping milk and bottle feeding it to him, but he is OK now. He was a preemie and was started on formula and pacifiers in the NICU without my permission. Even if the baby can't latch on, she can pump the milk from her breasts and bottle feed. You can get a manual pump for about $30. WIC will even pay to rent a hospital grade pump. Their is no substitution for breast milk. Formula is basically life support to keep a baby alive until they can eat solid food. Read the ingredients... you can't say most of them. That is not food. But, then again, I don't eat stuff I can't pronounce (unless it is ethnic food made with ingredients I can pronounce). Most people don't think about food and what it really is and don't mind giving their babies formula. Of course this is a personal choice, but if the desire is there to breast feed a baby, it will work out for them eventually. I had 6 weeks of very frustrating times, but my baby gets real food only nature can create.

Okay- let's talk bedding. I have spent hours searching (online and in stores) and I keep coming back to the RH bedding. So I went back to my store today. They were out of about half of what I needed and wanted so I ordered it (w/ free shipping) and I should have it ALL by the end of the week. Here is what I decided on. 1 King Duvet Cover in the 18th Century Medallion (in link above.) Pacific, so it does have a hint of blue. 2 Matelasse King Euro Shams in Fog (also linked above) 2 Lumbar "accent pillows" in cashmere.. one for each sham. I brought home 2 colors- a gray and an icy blue and need to choose. 1 Matelasse coverlet to act as a blanket- will be between the duvet cover and sheets. ***bought in Eucalyptus which is an icy blue color. The salesman talked me into this and I an really second guessing this for 2 reasons. #1- $179 is a LOT of money for a blanket that might not been seen. I could find a blanket at HomeGoods for $39 that would be fine. #2- *if* I stick w/ it, should I exchange it for Fog (color) so it matches the shams?? I really like the pop of color, but let's say, in the summer time, I decide to let the coverlet show more... wouldn't I want it to match the shams? Or am I trying to be too matchy-matchy??? (a problem of mine.) Wdyt??? Solid choices? I do need to get a king, light weight duvet on order. Any recs? Sign up for Enfamil's baby program. They send me the checks good for formula all the time. I've received a few of the 14 oz sample cans in the mail. This link should get you there.

Also, you might consider switching to an equivalent store brand formula. The formula industry is highly regulated and so there aren't a lot of differences between the different types of formulas.

Another option might be to find an Enfamil distributer in your area who distributes formula samples to the doctor's offices. You might be able to explain your plight and see if they could give you some samples. A previous coworker of mine used to live next to a Similac dealer. The dealer always gave cases of formula away to my coworker to give away to friends. A friendly Enfamil dealer might be willing to help you out a little.

I appreciate everyones advice, WIC has came through finally, and I have signed up my entire family for the enfamil.com registration, so they will be giving me the coupons that they receive. Thanks for all the advice and offers, but hopefully we will be ok now.

I am the Grandmother of a 1 year old who is being taken off formula and put on whole milk. I have extra formula here that will go to waste if I don't find someone who can use it. I know I am a stranger to you, but I'd be willing to mail this to you at my own expense. The container is unopened (dry type).
