What do you do with your WS babies over the next winter?
Comments (14)Ms Minna, do you have extended or just brief freezes there? If we are going to have wet snow, I leave things be and only protect (which I've surely lost this year but its always worth a try) my big pot of annual geranium. If it's a dry hard freeze in the forecast indicating temps into the teens for several days, I move pots with young perennials into the carport, sometimes put them on my front porch that is protected on two sides and covered, cover plants racks with plastic (Home Depot clear industrial drum liners work great), or drape things pushed close together with old tablecloths, beach towels and hope the wind doesn't take those....anything to give them a few degrees protection. I had a flat of noble fir seedlings under my car one year :) I had 4x5" pots in racks, many, frozen solid in my carport this year for more than 72 hours (weird winter) and I don't think I've lost any....newly rooting rose and shrub cuttings, many first year perennials. The perennials are frozen back to the crowns in their pots, but I don't have any reason to think dead - are you sure yours are goners? What are they and how cold did it get?...See MoreHow do you know when menopause is over/almost over?
Comments (34)Hello All, I am currently in menopause stage. I have all the symptoms listed, I had suffer over 3 years now. Recently I feel better by using DIM for stabilized my hormone naturally and using supreme royal jelly to help my sleep. (this will knock you out within 1 hr, this is all natural and have a lot of protein but it quite expensive) along with this you have to use stress relieve supplement to help your adrenal. I have no problem with the dryness. My skin still glowing ,everyone thought I am in 40 but I am in mid 50. I only have mild hot flash sometimes if I forget to take DIM. Also keep up with vitamin supplements daily. It is hard to digest all of these supplements but it will help. i hope this will be informative for everybody that have to suffer. Comments (4)Actually we had this discussion about a month or so and crawling is not an actual milestone. Not all babies crawl. Some will start and then stop suddenly and then walk months later. Others walk before they crawl. Some never crawl at all. Walking also can't really be judged by your baby's age. All kids start at different times. They're just not like all other milestones that are usually done at a certain month, it depends on your child. While she may be doing all this now, it may be months and months before she goes onto the next step. (DS was about 6 1/2 months old when he started to crawl and 13 months when he walked.) Also, just because a baby gets ahead in milestones won't necessarily mean they will stay that way. A lot of it has to do with the fact that they don't work on all areas at once. While one may be ahead in the physical activities, another may be more ahead in the verbal. So I always looked at DS and if he was very active and trying to do a lot of physical things, I didn't worry that he wasn't in a rush to talk. (Although MIL thought he had a problem there and needed his hearing checked but he was right on schedule. He "talked" to us, just not around others he didn't see all the time) Good luck to you and hope you get your Einstein :-) ~Leslie~...See MoreWhich recipe did you make over and over...
Comments (21)Cathy, this is SO easy, but it's time consuming. I love it because it candies the rind and it's not bitter at all. Also, you can change up this recipe with different kinds of citrus. I made a lemon and Key lime version this past weekend! Anna's Orange Marmalade Recipe source: Ina Garten "At Home" (I think) 4 large oranges 2 lemons 8 cups water 8 cups sugar Wash citrus and cut in half from "pole to pole". Cut citrus in very thin slices, being sure to remove the seeds. Place citrus slices and any juice in a heavy-bottomed sauce pot. Add 8 cups of water and bring citrus & water to a boil. Remove from heat and add sugar; stir till dissolved. Place lid on sauce pot and leave citrus mixture to sit over night. The next day, bring citrus mixture back to a boil; reduce temperature and simmer uncovered for 2 hours, stirring regularly. After 2 hours, bring back up to a steady boil, stirring continually, for *30 minutes or until reaching gel stage. Ladle mixture into prepared jars and process in a BWB for 10 minutes. * Sometimes it doesn't take the exact 30 minutes at the end to come to gel stage. I guess it just depends on the water content of the fruit, moisture in the air, etc. I've had mine gel at 20 minutes or less, so just use good judgement....See MoreAvalon23
