| Hi Everyone!
I have about another 2 weeks left in my pregnancy and just last night my feet blew up like balloons. Is there anything you can do about this? How fast do you loose all the water post-partum. I am still working 8 hours a day but I rotate sitting with feet up and walking. Is there anything else I can do? Thanks!

you must be really close to giving birth. when i had my dd afterward my feet got huge! i was not expecting this and they said it would take about 2 wks. to all go away! drink lots and lots of water with nothing else. ie. no sodas, tea, coffee, even juice. that will help alot. also when you get home lay on the couch and elevat you feet above your hips. good luck with you labor! |

| Deja vu! I had the same thing. It is a cruel thing to do to a 9 month pregnant woman, but the only thing that got the retention to go away was LOTS and I mean LOTS of water. I think I spent most of the last week answering nature's call, but it was either that or go barefoot! It sounds crazy to fix water retention with more water, but it works. |

| I had the same problem...only mine started at 25 weeks and just kept getting worse. I gained a total of 75lbs when I was pregnant and I KNEW that it wasn't all MY fault. I drank tons of water and tried to lay on my left side for a half an hour at least 3 times a day. After Logan was born I actually retained a little MORE water for the 1st three days but within a week of being home I lost 40lbs! Of WATER!!! I peed all the time, and would wake up at night drenched in sweat (sorry so gross). He is 11 weeks now and I have 10 lbs to go till I am back to my pregnancy weight. The water part comes off pretty quickly..with in the 1st 10days to two weeks I would say. Good luck! Aspen |

| yes in the last week I gained like 10 pounds in water! My feet just looked plain horrible! I wish I would have taken a picture now. I don't think I would work unless i had too. yea, the water retention goes away pretty quickly though. its the WEIGHT that sticks around! e |

| I retained a lot of water and it started really early. I stopped wearing my rings at 25 weeks and that was really pushing it. I should have stopped wearing them sooner than that. I hate to be a black cloud, but I'm still retaining water and my DS is 7 months old (no, it's not weight). I am back to my pre-pregnancy weight and am getting into most of my pre-pregnancy clothes. However, I had to have my rings re-sized from a 5 1/2 to a 7, some of my pre-pregnancy shoes are too narrow now and the carpal tunnels that came with the water retention has never gone away, although it is a little better. I will say the water retention does goes away for a lot of people. I don't know why it didn't for me. |
