My Mother gave me a leather chair. She was a heavy smoker and I could not get the smell out of that chair. I tried Febreze (did not work) and even a odor remover that I buy from a janitorial supply company. The odor remover would last for a few weeks and then the smell would come back. I think it would slowly come from the stuffing out through the leather. I finally gave it away. Maybe call an upscale furniture store or high end rug store and ask for recommendations. Also places that advertise that they clean after having a fire or water damage might be able to remove the smell.

Deedles- You can mix roosters! It's a bit of a theme, so they don't all have to match, at least that my opinion. I'll be mixing my bunnies in with some chickadees and that seems to work, because of the backsplash tiles. Actually, I like the wood tone that you have around your sink, now. At least what's in the picture. Not too light or dark and it doesn't look too formal. This is going to have a country/vintage feel to it, so you don't want to do anything that gets too fancy or formal. I like the yellow that's in the kitchen I posted above and that has a similar wood tone. Not exact, but similar. The nice thing about a soft yellow is that if it's not too pale, you can mix in some brighter yellows and even gold, depending on what you find for fabrics and accessories. And those items are what's going to make your kitchen really work. The wallpaper is great, but you have to continue that idea with your other accessories and fabrics. Do you have room for a table and chairs in your new kitchen? Any stools? An island? Lots of windows? Display shelves? These all give you great areas to bring in more fun items and colors. You'll be fine as long as you stick to your main colors and keep focused on your theme. I'd say 1930s to 1950s vintage farm kitchen...but you know more than I do, what look you're going for :) Oh, and I have no problem with you creating a new thread. The 'clown vomit' title is funny, but now that you're getting a better idea of what you want...I think the new thread is a good idea.

Thank you everyone for your kindness and for understanding. Here's some photos of my beautiful Siamese boy, Saki. He was my very first rescue cat. He was a kitten from a pregnant cat I found and took care of. When I saw those blue eyes of his, I just couldn't give him up. I have a 'former' pregnant feral cat/rescue, Savannah, who is now a full-time tamed house cat. She really attached herself to Saki and he was instrumental in socializing her. She has been walking around meowing looking for him since last night. It's so sad to watch. Here's my Saki:

I have a cat who vomits (vomited, anyway). She didn't simply yack up her food, but had some coughing/gagging/hacking going along with it...it sometimes occurred without her vomiting, so we were unsure if the coughing was causing the vomiting, or the vomiting was just accompanied by hacking/gagging/coughing. We went through all of the usual attempts to fix it. I elevated the food dishes, treated for hairballs, tried several different foods, wet her food (slowed her down and lessened any effects of not chewing, in case that was the issue - she won't eat wet food), put ping pong balls in the bowl to make sure she wasn't gulping, etc. She had a complete blood work-up and x-rays (the at-home changes and veterinary diagnostics were going on at the same time). The only thing we've ever found is a slightly elevated globulin level (twice). Apparently, this indicates some sort of inflammation. It can be present with IBD, persistent infection (she did have a severe upper respiratory infection at the shelter and for some time after I got her, so we tested again), asthma, some cancers, etc. Luckily (or not?), many of those things can be treated (though, not cured) with steroids. She is on prednisolone for now. It's very cheap (cost me $10 for two months' worth this morning), and she has not vomited since we started it (a few weeks ago). I am still debating further diagnostics, but my vet hasn't been pushing them. I have access to some very good specialists, but I'm just not sure I want to put the cat through endoscopy, etc. to simply continue treating her with steroids. I do wish I had a concrete diagnosis, but there are worse things than 5mg of prednisolone every other day. Long-term steroid use does have risks, but prednisolone is generally tolerated well in cats (better than prednisone). During all of this, the cat had no other symptoms, gained weight (which she needed - she lost weight with the URI), and behaved as if nothing was wrong. It may be worth looking into. The blood protein test is very cheap compared to other tests, so it's a good place to start. Of course, if you're already paying for an office visit, it might be worthwhile to get a complete blood work-up, rather than going back later to get additional tests done.
