adding lunch to infant's day

When you add lunch, what do you offer? DS is 7 1/2 months. Along with formula, he has cereal and 1/2 jar of fruit in the am and cereal 1/2 jar of veggie or fruit in at dinner time. Is the lunchtime just fruit or veggie without the cereal?

That's usually how we do it. He gets cereal and fruit in the morning, and cereal and fruit or veggie in the afternoon. For lunch he gets a jar of meat dinner, or maybe just a veggie or fruit, and sometimes meat dinner AND fruit if he seems really hungry. I've also been known to give a cereal "snack" around an hour or so before bedtime if he seems particularly hungry/fussy.

Hope this helps! Of course, he's my first, so maybe I'm doing it all wrong...

Elsa is 4m old now and I just started feeding her solids. So far she has had bananas, pears and rice. And she eats 3 times a day. She is a little piggy but that is how I did it with my son and it worked so why change?

We don't have rituals here. Since my daughter is a late sleeper she sometimes misses bkfast. Her first meal of the day might be at 11am or 12noon. It depends on what I feel like feeding her. Sometimes I offer her cereal & fruit. Other times I give her pastina with a fruit or veggie. And other times whatever I had leftover from her dinner the night before. For lunch I don't usually give her a meat, but there will be usually a veggie &/or fruit. Today I fed her chicken croquettes b/c that's what I had for lunch & she loved it! It's best not to lock yourself into "I must feed her this or that". Play some things by ear & have fun with it, jus tlike you would with your own mealtimes. If she's hungry feed her more....
