| My ds was born the day before Easter so one of his first birthday parties was an Easter party. I used a lot of yellow for streamers, plates, cups, etc. I mixed a little blue into it too. I bought inexpensive cardboard cutouts of easter bunnies, lambs, etc., for the walls at the local party store and dollar store. These stores also had the multi-colored shape streamers (i.e, eggs, bunnies, etc.)that go across the walls. Latex balloons are a choking hazard for young children so ds got mylar Easter balloons. The cake was a strawberry cake with green coconut frosting for grass. It had a chocolate bunny and candy eggs on top. It was a family party so we had an Easter meal of ham, green beans, homemade bread, etc. To decorate the table, I had little gift bags that I had bought at the dollar store for everyone. They had grass, plastic eggs filled with jelly bellies, Easter bunnies made out of lifesavers, and something else I can't remember off the top of my head. I had found a cute idea on the Crafts and Decorations forum for a little bunny sticking his rear end out of a flower pot and that was the main centerpiece. We didn't have any little kids at ds's party so we didn't worry about games or things like that. We had bought some plastic eggs before hand and had ds hunt for those. |
