take the over 40 eye test
Comments (7)Mikeandbarb, I experienced something like what you described. I saw the pink dots and the green one. Then, I looked off to the side - focused on a point to the side of the whole figure. That was especially fun! Out of the corner of my eye, I "saw" the green dot "stomp out" each of the pink ones, until only the green dot was circling!...See MoreDH & ex have been divorced over 40 yrs, ex entering back into his
Comments (11)Mary 1956, whoever said that there is something wrong with you because it bothers you that your husband's ex-wife is included in his family in a way you aren't has obviously never experienced this kind of hurtful treatment. I have! I am not sure why people act as they do, but a friend of mine told me that many people just don't have the ability to think about other people's feelings like "we" do. I am not sure I agree, but I do see it on a daily basis. Why your husband's ex-wife doesn't see how inappropriate her attendance at his family functions is eludes me. My guess is that she doesn't give a rat's a__ about your husband or you. She must not have any pride. Maybe she does it to hurt your husband and you. Even if your husband says something to his family, it may not help. I am in almost the identical situation, and although my husband and I haven't been married for as long as you, his ex-wife attends many of his families events. To make matters worse, she had an affair that ended their relationship about 15 years ago, and his family seems to not care. She has driven a wedge between him and his kids, and they don't seem to care about that either. And she has done everything she can to prevent me from having a relationship with his adult kids, and for some reason these kids just allow themselves to be manipulated. I hate to say this, but there is probably not much you can do about the situation unless your husband can influence his family. In my mind, they shouldn't have to understand why it bother's you, they should just accept that it does, that YOU are part of the family, and that they should make things comfortable for YOU. Good luck and let us know how things work out!...See MoreAnyone have a 48x40 inch (or close) wood island top???
Comments (9)Hey, thank you for your comments...I do appreciate them all. When I think about all this, the problem with this island top has always been me. I CANNOT make a decision on it. I've made hundreds of decisions over the last few years as we've totally renovated this 60+ year old lake place that had been sorely neglected by previous owners. But for some reason, I just can't pull the trigger on this one. That's why I finally brought a decorator in for the first time. That and because I need some window treatments custom made. Sayde, I'm only calling MY OWN island dinky. Mine could definitely have been a little bigger for my kitchen...as I said, I screwed that up. Island scale has to fit the size of the kitchen...too big or too little are both not good. Your top is sounding good. Melsey, I did check out that link and it's pretty interesting. Price seems very good to me. The only thing was I could not get a real good look at the tops. I'll check it out again later. I may just start a whole new thread with pictures of my kitchen and ask for people to play the "trick out my island" game with me. HA! Thanks, pup...See MoreQuestion about later in life Pregnancy's
Comments (12)My mother was 42 when I was born...no problems at all. My husband's mother married an older man when she was in her late thirties. She had grown children and he had grandchildren, and together they had 6 children in 6 years. She was 38 when she had the first of those 6, my husband's oldest brotehr, 39 when he was born, and then had a baby at 40, 41, 42 and 43. The baby born when she was 43 died...had spina bifida. She also died a couple of years later. They were very poor, but I wouldn't worry much at all about anyone who was pregnant and healthy and had access to good health care....See Moreshehla
