Surprised I hadn't seen anyone post about this yet, but it certainly is a parenting matter at its heart. In short, a divorced couple's daughter has a wild streak, got booted out of her internship, then refused to abide by their house rules. then ran off to live with her paternal grandparents (who, by all accounts, have actively added and abetted the continuing fracture of the parent-child relationship).
Now, she's suing her parents for college tuition. Out of state college tuition no less. And, she's over the age of 18.
The insane legal system in New Jersey has ruled in her favor, telling the parents to pony up $16k.
One of the latest articles on this debacle stated that legislature has been drafted to prevent this situation from happening to other parents.
What's your take?
