Where did all the good ol boys and girls go?
Comments (45)I agree with the above. Plus the fact that too much personal information gets divulged or can be mined by joining facebook. I'd rather limit my online participation to forums like GW and other, less inclusive, less wide open sites. I've been a member here for a long time....going on a couple of decades......and I have seen the same ebb and flow of visitor traffic through the seasons as we are now witnessing. January, February, March are always as slow as molasses but it will pick up when the gardening season comes into to full force in the next 6-8 weeks. And I have to say that the comments about excessive ads and pop-ups surprises me. I don't experience hardly any at all and just use Explorer with the standard firewalls. Didn't realize this was much of a problem anymore regardless of the Internet server one used...... I have to be honest when I say I read more than post. Most of the topics don't hold a great deal of interest for me and I tend only to respond to questions that get neglected or overlooked or when erroneous info is provided. Since conifers are not my area of concentrated expertise, I let others respond first - there is an amazing knowledge base here :-) But I still remain pretty active in some other forums. I also live in an area where the Internet is not widely available so I am not online at home. And since my work life is pretty seasonal and therefore computer access the same, I tend not to post much in winter anyway....See MorePlease post pictures of your shared boy/girl bathroom
Comments (9)Well, there is no way I would post a picture of my kids' bathroom on the internet, LOL!, but we went with monkeys (it seemed appropriate). I found very cute monkey bath mat, hand towels, soap dispenser, and waste basket at Linens N Things. They also had a cute shower curtain, but we didn't need it. Each kid has their own stepstool in front of their sinks -- you can get them with storage inside or without, and can either paint their names on or have their names painted. They each have their own towels and toothbrush holders to their liking. For non-guest bathrooms, I like to keep the color white/creamy white because it provides better light for getting ready. This keeps the room pretty neutral. We haven't remodeled the bathroom yet, but the POs used a pretty neutral creamy faux marble countertop and off-white tiles on the floor and in the tub, so there's nothing that screams GIRL or BOY. Eventually, we'll put in some nicer fixtures and surfaces, but I'm still going to keep the colors very much white, cream or tan. In our last house, we went with a fairly adult looking hall bathroom and hid the kids' bath toys behind the curtain....See MoreWhat has your bad boy/girl been up to lately?
Comments (26)What HAVEN'T they been up to? LOL. Xena likes to steal. About three times a day I have to find and return the christmas-tree shaped plant pick that she steals from a mini-rose on the kitchen table. I tried taking it out and putting it away, but in a fit of pique she started to eat the blooms! Back the pick went, back to stealing went Xena, and no more flowers became mutilated. So far this system is working for us. Jasmine is being quite the sucky baby. If my posture even suggests the existance of a lap, she is on it. I leaned against a low box the other day while taking a phone call and she scrambled right up like I was sitting in an armchair or something. Then she proceeded to look perturbed because there really wasn't enough lap there to lay across and she was clutching with all her worth and STILL sliding down my legs. She has perfected the art of "log rolling" - as I turn over at night, she skillfully balances and walks as I turn, then settles onto whatever side ends up at the top when I am done. I suppose I wouldn't mind all the warm snuggly attention. But she drools. Ew! LOL Ruby? What can I say about Ruby. Today I wore make-up because we were going to a local pizza joint to celebrate DD's birthday with family. I had a few moments before it was time to leave so I snuck in a few moments of reading. She trampled over to me across the back of the couch, placed her paw on my head to steady it, and proceeded to sniff all over my face. First she inspected the eye shadow. Then she sniffed each individual eye lash, running her flat nose along the length of each one. She checked out the blush on both cheeks. But the best snurffle was reserved for last! My lipstick. Burts Bees, and it has a bit of mint in it. She sniffed and snotted and sniffed some more. Then she delicately gagged in my face (she does not like the smell of mint at all LOL). No wonder I don't "make myself up" very often!...See MorePlayroom storage ideas, 10 y/o boy and girl, layout help
Comments (2)Indent/cut out space is 83”x29” ... We’d like to keep that space as much closed storage as possible. Found “expandable” pseudo-custom cabinetry here on Houzz that would work....See Morenatureperson
