Double B-day Party

My son has been invited to a few double B-day parties (parties for two kids from his class at one time). Do you think I should be getting the kids the same or different gifts? They are 7. I feel like they may get jealous of each others gifts when they open them. But, this time I happen to have a gift for one of the kids that my son picked out for him a while ago and can not get another one for the other child.

And, how much do you usually spend on kid's gift? I have been buying gifts in advance on sale and sometimes feel a little cheap. (I'll get like a $15 game on sale for $8). So, I often feel compelled to add a little something to bring up the amount I've spent. What do you do?

I think it's fine to get different gifts. The kids at this age probably aren't paying that close attention ayway since they each have their own stack of presents to open..

I spend less than you on gifts. I spend $5-10 - sale or not. IMO, kids get too many gifts the way it is. How many parents do you talk to who say something to the effect of having to clean out the old toys to make room for the new. Kids are not taught to take care of or appreciate the things they have because it is so readily replaced. I try to buy gifts that are either more usuable or consumable. I'll buy a toy if I don't know the parents. I guess there is always the possibility that others think I'm cheap, but I don't feel an obligation to throw away money on something that I would never buy for my own kids.
