It's been a long time since our children used the little wooden step to use a toilet but when it came time to pick ADA vs. standard height toilets for our new build we thought about it a lot. Finally we decided on the ADA height because the little wooden step can always be useful for a little one who finds the ADA too high but here isn't anything one can do to raise a low toilet for the older creaky knee set who needs a higher one (my knees hurt just thinking about it).

I like vessel sinks personally, but then, I know how tall I am and set my sink at the right height for me. But for kids, their heights are changing, which means vessel sinks that are 'just right' at some point won't be at all comfortable at other points. (Though it's not like an under-mount sink is height-adjustable!) I guess the discomfort of using a wrong-height sink is just more noticeable on a vessel. If the kids don't clean the bathroom themselves (and well), I'd go with an under mount just for clean-ability.

We put all comfort height toilets in our new build. Here is the thought process we went through: 1. young children very quickly grow through the needing a step stool stage so another 6 months is nothing in their young lives; 2. once you get old or your knees go bad you are old or have bad knees for a very long time; 3. just to make sure we sat on a variety of comfort heights in plumbing show rooms to confirm our decision. It was a no brainer for DH who is well over 6' tall and does have a bad knee. I thought it would be okay for me since I'm 5'5" and everything I test sat seemed okay. This past weekend we started moving into the new build so I reality sat the new toilets. My feet barely touch the floor when I use them, a different experience than when I test sat. I'm trying to figure out where I went wrong. Maybe it's because we got cushy soft close seats that give an extra 1/2" to the height of the toilets that I feel this is a bit different than I expected. But, DH is very happy and I guess at some point I can change out the toilet seats or get a step stool for my old age.

Furniture made for children is going to be smaller. If you do not want a dresser that is that short, then maybe get the Ethan Chest that is linked below which is a bit taller and will match the bed.
