While there are many herbs which help to control epilepsy, such remedies are not intended for use in severe cases. If your condition is not responding to conventional medication, then it's unlikely it will respond to herbal medication either. Especially since, as Lazygardens pointed out, it's hit and miss with the dosages. Your doctor has recommended surgery, and I think you are left with just two options: have the surgery and give yourself a very good chance of improvement in your condition and your life; or not have the surgery, and continue as you are, with a very good chance of getting worse. I know which way I'd go! Meantime, include plenty of passionfruit in your diet!

I also had been giving dream bones mini chews to my dogs. About 4 months ago my 7lb Chiweenie started throwing up blood and bloody stool 30 minutes after giving him the treat. I immediately took him to the vet where he had to spend the night. $400 later he got to come home. I didn't realize it was the treat as the vet said sometimes dogs get a intestinal virus. 3 days ago my short legged jack russell started the same thing. I took him to the vet the next morning when I found all the blood. 3 days later he got to come home. $1100 this time. I threw away all the dream bones treats that I had and will never buy these again. My dogs loved them and ate them for a couple years but my vet said that it was the treat that caused this. He got severely dehydrated and his kidneys were in bad shape. His white blood cell count was off. He was in really bad shape within a few hours. I am going to email the company and send them copies of my vet bills. We trust people to make stuff for our babies and then they poison them. I will never buy this product again and I will do everything I can to make sure no one else does either.

However, I've learned unfortunately, there will always be those people who feel entitled to openly judge others, for whatever reason, when they chose to live their lives differently than what the perceiver deems socially acceptable. Even though this person knows little about me or my family, other than what I posted in this intro post. I love it here in the Laundry Room. I started visiting because I have a genuine interest in washing machines (both new and old), detergents and other laundry additives, and fabric care. Also hoping I'll learn a thing or two from the real experts. Yes, we do a lot of laundry in our house. That's all the more reason to make sure it's done right the first time ;) I'll stay here because of all the wonderful, genuinely friendly and caring members I've had a chance to "meet" and chat with so far. The first time it happened I thought maybe she found a Tylenol or something. When it happened again in a different place, outside instead of inside, day instead of night, I brought her to the vet and bloodwork came back all good. heart all good. she's a beast. This dog is a total foodhound and ball freak, eats anything she can reach, steals anything bAll shaped. When she was a baby we caught her chewing on my razor she stole out of the shower b didnt even cut herself. Soon after we Caught her with a pin cushion.... no pins left in it. Shes never been sick a day in her life. shes a beast. I would say an episode like this occurs once every other year, she sleeps it off and by morning shes good to go. Shes had xrays and MRIs and bloodwork and besides being a little chunky pug she is always healthy as can be. I really cant affoed crazy brain scans
