Book recommendation

I love to read to improve my parenting skills. And since I have few people to discuss things with I really rely on books.

What I'm looking for now is something you or others have found valuable in dealing with pre-teenagers and teenagers. Thanks for all ideas!

Andy,
I don't know if you have Guys or Dolls! LOL But "The Care and Keeping of You, The Body Book for Girls" from the American Girl Library is pretty nice. It's actually for you and your daughter. She reads it and then you discuss what she's read.
"So You Want to be a Teenager" is another I've heard is pretty good. I don't know who it's by though.
Good luck!
Kris

Andy, you have preteens? You NEED:

Oops, haven't been here for a while. Thank you both.

Kris, I've got two BOYS, LOL. But I'll check out the other title.

Talley, hi. My copy of that book is about 8 years old now. I too would recommend it to anyone with kids. Or a spouse. Or a parent. Sound insights and advice. (BTW I saw you're a copy editor--so was I a long time ago!)

Since I can already see chamges in our 12 yo I thought now is a good time to read up. As I said, I don't have many people to talk to and I really enjoy a good book anyway.

Recipes from Parenting by Sandy Spurgeon McDaniel is a good book. It is an easy-to-read book. Sandy also has a website, parentingsos.com Check it out!
