Thank you for your messages..can you believe we brought that buffet & table home (about 100 miles or so) ... 20 yrs. ago "tied" to the top of our old, old motorhome!!! Unbelievable! And when we got home, had to go get a neighbor to help us lift it off the top! Too funny (now)! It is "burl walnut" (or curly according to a letter I keep inside the buffet from the wife of the man who built it. Laura, I have tried the method you described, and LOVE it! (Read my notes.href>) I have done some more needleturn, but I am waaay faster when everything is already held down for me. The key to happiness is to find a glue stick that does not leave a sticky, thready mess. The one that worked for me is "Scotch Purple Glue Stick." Like you described, it has a waxy consistency, perfect for our task. I did note a musty smell, but it's not strong. I will look for the 3M brand glue stick as well. Oh, and I did find it helpful to use a needle or wooden toothpick to turn the outer corners. Place your piece freezer paper side down on a table top. Hold down with one finger, and use the toothpick to press down the edges. You can make ruffles, which results in a smoother edge. Or else you can make one fold at the tip. Fold right at the edge of the freezer paper. Add more glue. Make more folds, adding a tiny dap of glue stick where needed. This worked better for sharp points. On really tight outer corners, it helped to make a few small notches that went to within a couple of threads of the edge of the freezer paper. Inner curves you have to clip. Make your clips perpendicular to the edge of the freezer paper, to within a thread of the edge. Of course, take a bigger bite into the fabric when hand sewing these areas to your background.

Beverly.....Poor Sunbonnet Sue.....the things we do for s'mores! Lynn, I cyber-met the gal that put the binding on the quilt (quilt blocks I sent in) for the last auction. That was pretty cool. It looks like in one of the links Beverly provided, you could applique the graham cracker on your background square, put the chocolate on top of that then stack the marshmallow snowman. Sure would like to see a picture when you get it figured out. SharonG/FL

It will be perfect hanging in your office. I like the blue work embroidery, I have always favored that over the red work. Great choice of fabric to go with it. Did you hand applique the snowflakes? Jayne
