Isn't your contractor willing to do samples?

There are two types of concrete 1. Concrete that HAS CRACKED 2. Concrete that WILL CRACK The stress control joints are there for the HUMAN to dictate WHERE the cracks occur. If you did NOT put them in...then the concrete will dictate it for you. And it will CONTINUE to dictate until someone jacks out the concrete. It will NEVER STOP cracking. The warehouse I work in has control joints every 20 - 25 feet (250,000sf warehouse)...and the distance for those joints are WAAAAAAAY too far apart. They are SOOOO far apart the concrete is cracking (spider web) to the point of needing epoxy crack control every year. More and more issues are popping up every year. The building is only 12 years old. You should see how much fun those floors are for the maintenance guys.
