I don't always send them, but I always intend to! I have been pretty good, a couple years in a row now... Like Bill, I think it's an extra special treat to those who get one from me, the odds are dodgy!! It sure is a feeling of accomplishment, getting those cards in the mailbox. I also write a short personal message, since I don't have kids or photos or newsletters to share. It gets a little tedious to write in each one, but I make sure I have eggnog and carols playing and make it festive. This year I wrote half while watching "Holiday Inn." I like reading the newsletters, even when they are braggy! Usually they are from relatives I don't keep in touch with so it's just a nice record of their year. I don't mind cards that are just signed (always the photo ones) but I prefer the ones with a message! I also don't compare give-to-recieve. I am sure I've fallen off a list or two for the years I missed, but I send cards to people I want to extend a greeting to, not to those whom I owe anything!

Oakley, you asked how we felt about Christmas cards for cryin' out loud! Why does it always have to turn into all about you? Stop your innocent act, Natal. YOU are the one who made it about me with your thinly veiled comment AS IF none of us would notice it. lol. You said: A little sad to hear some consider the practice a contest. I deliberately avoid many of your threads now for that very reason. I think others do the same. Oh reeally? Linda, I mostly use rubber stamps. Some I sent out last year or the year before had a big snowflake on the front of it that I stamped. Then I went over it with glitter glue. Another stamp I used was a group of trees. I used all of the trees in one spot and inked only some of them in another spot on the front of the card to make it look like a bunch of trees on a hill. I used dark green ink and put a few dots of red glitter glue on the trees for decorations. I didn't make any cards this year because I'm catching up on scrapbooks, but when I do make my next ones I plan to try some other ways to do it because I will have more time since I no longer work away from home. I'm not sure what I want to try yet though. I have a Cricut machine to work with now so I'll probably use it. Click on the link below then look on the left hand side of the screen under Gallery and Forums for cards. You may get some ideas from there. One thing I would like to try next time is to plan ahead what kind of card I'm going to make, as far as folding it, then I would like to find the right spot on it to type a message directly onto the card instead of putting it on another sheet of paper and gluing that paper to the inside of the card. Mine are on the kitchen table, literally! I have them all ready to mail, except I ran out of stamps. The post offices around here will be packed tomorrow, so I'll get more on Monday. I hope you all get them ok, as I did layered post cards. This will be a first. I am sending to everyone, so please let me know if you don't get one from me. All that I have received so far are beautiful! I will get any of those at the PO on Monday that are waiting for me. Tami
