Hi JoshTx: It took me 1 hour to dug up Knock-out grafted on Dr. Huey. His root extended 3 feet to steal water from other flowers. Someone in Colorado commented in HMF that Dr. Huey sprang up from a spot, totally bare for the past 5 years! Kim is right about Dr. Huey is being immortal. My neighbor poured gasoline into the roots, then covered up with a garbage can. Roundup didn't work for her. I should had done what she did, except throw in a match.

Acer palmatum 'Sharp's Pygmy' at 12 o'clock, Pinus aristata 'Blue Bear' back and to the right, Pseudotsuga menziesii 'Stormy' middle right, Abies concolor 'Charming Chub' lower right, Picea abies 'Brno' bottom center, Pinus edulis 'Trinidad' middle left, Abies balsamea 'Tyler Blue' behind left which started off fast but has slowed down to 2"-3" of growth per year the last few years. A few will likely be replaced with true minis as they get too big. I have another area to the left of this where I tried to use more minis. It should look decent by next year and I'll post a pic then. Dan

Its a more affordable line of decking made by Fiberon, I think they use that line of decking strictly for Box Stores. I don't know much about it, most homeowners buy this stuff from box stores because it is cheaper in comparison to other lines of decking which offer a much better warranty. I would get some paperwork and read up on it and compare apples to apples what they use to make that what the warranty is in comparison to other brands. On the general note if you can find any information online from the manufacturer or if the store who sells, they can't provide too much information or literature, I'm sure there is a reason for it. Go with Trex Transcend, you will pay a little more but you will have a nice long lasting decking. I always tell my customers, instead of buying something cheap that will fade or fail in a few years and need to be replaced again, spend a little more and have something lasting. Good luck.

flopsycat1 is correct IPE is very very hard wood. It was my job to make the plugs for the wrap around porch to cover the screw holes (over 2000 of them). I would get about 50 of them before the bit was so dull it was smoking, and I’d have to change it out. IPE won’t burn, won’t even float. We installed it in 2003 and finally sanded and oiled in 2017. We figure we can go another year before we sand and oil again. It is a covered porch but in the winter the storms blow the rain all over the IPE, day after day. We live in western Washington state and have very wet winters. My husband had a love affair with IPE.
