Great pictures! Fortunately, the tree in our way died about a year before we put up our greenhouse (still had to cut it down, though!) We had a furry OSHA inspector too (all extra paws and hands were greatly appreciated.) I love my 10x12 HFGH, enjoying it for my third year. It's totally stuffed with plants, year round. "- We will add more clips to prevent the panels from flying off in the wind - a major concern." Sounds like you've read the archived threads here about the recurring problem of lost HFGH panels. In addition to extra clips (we did that too) it's pretty easy to add self-tapping screws to the panels, as even more protection against panel loss. The 10x12 is pretty tall and makes an even worse target for wind damage, but there are some scary threads archived here about wind-damaged 6x8 HFGHs as well. Here are some photos showing how we screwed the panels into the aluminum frame (thanks to previous GardenWeb forum members who suggested this improvement.) Part Six, Adding the Panels "- Depending on the temperatures, may add a blind on the western end to prevent sunburn and excessive late afternoon heat." I definately need shadecloth on the roof, west end, and south side (my succulents and cacti cook in there without it.) I also believe that adding shadecloth has helped to increase the lifespan of my HFGH panels in our sunny climate. (I used Aluminet shadecloth.) Some GardenWeb HFGH owners have reported problems with the HFGH panels deteriorating after exposure to sun, but others don't seem to have this problem. My panels have yellowed, but I see no other signs of deterioration (fingers crossed.) "In winter, may add water jugs as heat sinks in cooler weather." In theory it seems like this would help, but the general consensus seems to be that you'd need very large containers of water to retain enough heat to truly benefit you into the wee hours of a cold morning. Most small greenhouses can't afford to give up the high percentage of space required to make this work, but there's lots of good reading on this topic in this forum (posted by folks who are much smarter than I am.) "- Wish list: shelves, solar fan, temperature activated window control" Just a warning, the HFGH solar fan is not powerful enough to adequately cool your greenhouse (sounds good, but doesn't quite work.) If you do a search in this forum for HFGH solar fan, there's a thread with a knowledgeable poster sharing his calculations that a 6x8 HFGH would need three of the HFGH solar fans to exchange enough air to drop the temps (if my memory is right.) There are also some posts from folks saying the HFGH vent openers don't last long at all, and it's best to research and purchase other brands that have a better track record. azee_2009 I know Mr. Jean Luc, and we don't get along to say the least. I know he started a forum (I'm not associated with it in any way), and I did join it using a fake name and generic user name. The reason I did was not to reply to anything, but to see if he treated people on his forum the same way he does in other forums. And as I fully expected, he treated them nicely on his forum. He does knows how to be civil (despite his claims). He does know how to be civil, just refuses to do so unless he is getting something out of it. That's exactly the problem with dealing with him. I just cant accept being treated like dirt, and simply refuse to be treated that way. I also know that forum dosen't exist anymore. After a few months he just didn't get the fallowing he was looking for, and that was the end of it (not enough people kissing his butt/ego) to bother. It's entirely possible I saw your pictures on that forum. I do remember not replying for a reason. If it was on that forum the reason was because I refused to reply to anything on his forum. As I mentioned the only reason I joined it was for one reason, and one reason only. That was to see how he treated people, and if he wold still disrespect them at every turn like he does on other forums when the success of his forum depended on how he treated people. But I know I saw pictures of that setup before. Thanks for the link. I have never tried it. It seems it is a type of melon, just not one that I'm familiar with. But from everything I have read, it's quite bitter. In witch case I wonder if it is one of those things that you need to acquire a taste for, or are there ways to prepare it that make it taste good? I hope you post updates, because I think it's an innovative, and interesting system design.

Cece- those were two good shows today, weren't they! I especially likes the cloisonne book cover. I printed that project out. The pasta maker I have is an Atlas. You can get them in a store that sell kitchen stuff- maybe a chain like Lechter's or a local culinary shop. It was funny when I got mine cause my Dad got it as a xmas present for me. He thought he was doing good by getting a big schmancy electric model with all types of controls on it. When I saw it, my face fell, and I had to tell him I wanted the old hand-cranker for crafting, not cooking! He had to take it back & order a new one, lol! I am not sure what the going price is- maybe $50? Check on Ebay to get an idea- I know they have them all the time. HTH, Karen

On the plywood issue, the one that's $28.00 a sheet is probably a "Sanded"ply. In my area(LI,NY) it's a luan veneer for that money. Much better to use than MDF. Another choice would be melamine covered flakeboard. Lower cost but won't hold up to any sort of stress. I've used the kneewall to recess all manner of desk, bureau, bookcases, etc. But I frame the entire recess and insulate and sheetrock it traditionally. It cuts down air infiltration and keeps the furniture in a controlled environment. Ron
