Valentine Boxes at school

When I was in Grammar school every room had a Valentine box so the kids could put them in the box prior to the Day. I remember my girlfriend and I fighting over who was going to get picked to decorate it. I remember we both were - so I guess the teacher figured that one out.

Our supply list was restricted to the old fashioned crepe paper and construction paper in those days. And a few doilies.

We used aluminum foil and those red doilies, I believe.
Wouldn't it be neat if we could get the same kind of foil in gold? Not paper, but gold aluminum...???

I purchased School Mouse this year so I can't comment on growth rate. I do notice that on two sites: https://www.midwestgroundcovers.com/plant/Hosta-School-Mouse AND https://www.perennials.com/plants/hosta-school-mouse.html it is mentioned to be slow growing. When I see few pictures in the Hosta Library, I tend to think that the plant hasn't been available for that long and that hosta folk haven't had a chance to grow it to a larger size yet. I do agree that Mini Skirt is a good grower. And very cute!
