Seal a painted 1920's bedroom set?

I plan to have my 11 year old daughter use my grandmother's 1910-1920's very intricate bedroom furniture which is painted yellow. Some of the paint has chipped over the years and is worn. The look is very shabby chic. I tested 4 areas for lead and only 1 spot was positive. I plan to seal the paint, but don't know what to use. I have done some research on Benwood Stays Clear Acrylic, Minwax Polycrylic and Minwax Wipe On Poly. I don't want the yellow paint to turn amber or yellow more. I don't want it to be shinny (high gloss), so am looking at satin or low luster. Some sites even suggested liquid wax. I need some help. I look forward to your advice!
