So you've got warm countertops and a cool backsplash, so I think you're best bet is a neutral neutral (versus a warm neutral or a cool neutral).

What I would do is choose either a blue, gold or white color.
I'm serious.
I think a nice white with a tint of blue in it would look nice, and if you go to the paint store, ask someone for a sample, its white paint with a tint of blue.
It will brighten the room up big time too, or not.
Mabey you don't want it too bright, but that is what i would try, get a sample and try it.
