Remove old paint from wood stairs?

Hello,

Is there a way that I can remove old paint stains (1 year old stain) from wooden stairs?

This paint stains is along the corners of the stairs where I cannot reach by sanding. Stain was caused when it dripped/seeped through the masking tape when I painted the vertical side of the stairs with high gloss Benjamin Moore Bone white paint.

Thanks in advance
Jim

Try some denatured alcohol. Get a stiff putty knife and wrap a thin cotton rag soaked with the alcohol around it in order to get some leverage on the paint you are trying to remove. The alcohol works best when you saturate the paint so it will work better after a minute or so than it will initially.
