I am gut renovating a post war 1 bedroom in NYC. Entry way has row of closets which I will have slinding doors for-about 90 inches worth. I plan on having doors stained a bit darker than floors but not too dark to show off the woodwork. My bossy friend/decorator thinks I should paint it white. My contractor thinks staining it will make it look much richer. Your thoughts greatly appreciated!! And hurry!!!

Unless the bossy decorator/friend is paying for the renovation, do what YOU want.

IMO, closets should be the same as trimwork.
