BM silver fox with dark wood trim?

Hi -
I love this forum, so hope you can give me some good ideas. Here is my LR in progress. It is currently BM Shaker Beige with a pale blue rug, beige/cream furniture, blond floors and dark wood trim (Please ignore the baby bumper on the coffee table!). I am looking for a light-medium gray/blue wall color to offset the furniture and give the room a mellow/spa/silver/blue/gray/Barbara Barry feel. (I will be switching the red accents in the DR to blue/gray also) Not too dark since this is north facing. I am down to BM Silver Fox and BM San Antonio gray, both of which have a little purple in them. (After going through so many BMs and some Farrow&Ball colors.) I love them both, but all the photos I have see of Silver Fox online looking so great are with white trim. What do you think about these colors with dark trim, in this room?

I love the room, very nice choices! I think your color ideas work well with white and dark wood, you often see them paired with white and either brown or black. Here are a few more paint suggestions-

BM wickham gray
BM stonington gray
BM smoke (love this one)
BM quiet moments

Good luck!

Jesst, do any of those grays have green or blue undertones?

Hi, you have a lovely place ... One thought on your color choice. Since this is a north facing room, which are well known for being cold and less than comforting, you may want to seek out grays/blue grays that have a good bit of warmth to them - like ones with a green or orange-brown undertone. Warm colors read as much more inviting and can really cut some of the cold tones northern light takes on.

Best of luck !!

Smoke reads blue and quiet moments, blue/green. Both very subtle... if you do a Google search for both paint colors some room images should pop up.

bizzy,
I just wanted to tell you that your home is beautiful. Among other things, I especially like your living room sofa style and the light blue and beige carpet on which it rests. Can you recall where you found the sofa and carpet?

Thanks,
JB

Bizzy,

Did you paint, yet? I think the 'silver fox' will look great in your space, even with the dark trim. Love your armoire (Hu & Hu??!!) and Guilin drawing....

JB1176-- I am not the OP but the sofa looks very much like this Baker Archetype:

Hope this helps!
