Entire house painted in RH Silver Sage

Is there anyone out there who has their entire house painted in RH silver sage? I love the color so much I am seriously considering it for the entire house. Would it be good to paint in a house that one is getting ready to sell? Thanks for your opinions.

Although it's a nice color, I think an entire house of it would be too much. It's also a "trendy" color right now, so it may look dated in the future.

I think looking at an entire house for sale painted in that color would certainly be memorable, though no in a way that would make me eager to get out my checkbook and put down a deposit.

If you truly love it, use it liberally, but intersperse it it about with plenty of rooms painted something else so your eye keeps finding it afresh and being delighted.

Even chocolate-covered strawberries would would get old if you had to eat them three times a day.

DH painted the living/dining room (3 houses ago) in RH Silver Sage to sell it. It was a big hit with the buyers, HOWEVER--- big HOWEVER -- It's a beautiful color but very difficult to match. Most of our greens didn't work with it. Most of our blues didn't work with it. It has more blue in it than you might think. Beige and brown worked with it.

People can react very strongly to color. If the potential buyer happened to hate Silver Sage, she'd be considering the cost of painting the entire house. Not helpful when trying to sell. It would be more effective to use it in one room where it really works well with the light and the furnishings.

I think it would be a nice mild color to have throughout. Perhaps the person who could not live with it until they could grab a paint brush and change the color does not need a house. Yes, it is a very popular color but it also a very soothing color and easy on the eye. I have pantry, GR, DR, Laundry Room, one bath, and three bedrooms painted Toasted Wheat. I do have one bedroom, two baths and the kitchen different colors, but I really get dizzy when I walk in a house that looks like a crayola box. It just makes a house "for sale" flow easier to have continuity of color, as long as it is soothing and not bright and overdone.

When I painted my kitchen silver sage, everyone who came over said they loved it. I would have loved use it in my entire downstairs, however I'd have to start changing out window treatments, bedding, etc. so I settled for painting my guest room silver sage. When I called my neighbor over to look, she had silver sage paint on her cheek! She was painting the same color at her house.
I would say, use it in bedrooms and bathrooms and perhaps use a light brown in the living areas. I painted RH cappacino in my dining room/entryway and it looks so nice with the silver sage.

Even for a silver sage lover (me), that would be a little much. I don't think that silver sage is a trendy color. I think that it's moved into the classic, neutral area; it goes so well with most other colors.

A friend of mine painted her entryway, livingroom and dining room in the SS. She has a dark purple velvety couch in the living room with other deep purple looking accents. Looks beautiful and not real feminine either. She has a chocolatey color for accents in the dining room. Looks really nice. Elegant.

I'm sorry to have to repost these two posts... but it just goes to show how little you people know about ANYTHING. PLEASE DON'T GIVE ADVICE WHEN YOU HAVE NO FREAKING IDEA WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT! It is now almost THREE YEARS later and you are wrong... very wrong...

One could argue that YOUR TYPE is very much to blame for our current economic problems. YOUR TYPE - the ones who "knew" all about home improvement, "the experts" who could give the best advice...

Get a life. Quit trying to sound like you know what the hell you are talking about.

It's all a matter of taste. NO ONE can predict what buyers will want - because NO ONE knows whether or not the RIGHT BUYER will walk in your door.

QUIT trying to advise people as to what the right "upgrades" will be to help them sell their homes... YOU DON'T KNOW!
