Paint Smells like Body Odor--no joke!

| We had our guest room repainted about 2 months ago. We used Benjamin Moore Regal flat on three walls and Aura on another. The semigloss trim paint came from HomeDepot. The ceiling paint came from HomeDepot.
Does ANYONE have an answer for me? I can start smelling the odor before I even reach the room. I was hoping this smell would go away, but it is as strong today as it was the first day.
Has anyone else ever had this problem? I searched and found a forum from several years back where someone had the same problem, but no one responded to the post.
I think it smells the most around the new bifold doors that were painted and installed at the closet, but I am not sure.
Thanks for any help with this. If you have had this problem or know what to do, please respond ASAP! We are expecting an out of town guest next Monday and I am embarassed to have him sleep in this room. YUK!!

| Since some of the paint you used came from Home Depot - ummmm let me guess there will be some say it was the Home Depot paint. ;) Never noticed paints ever having that type of smell, but then again after breathing fumes all the time some of us just get used to the smells blending together. After all this time , I kinda like the smells. :D If you leave the door closed, try opening and airing the room out. You might also try using some aromatic candles or using a potpourri pot with some vanilla, cinnamon sticks and orange scents mixed in. Opening a window might help some or a fan pulling some of the smell out. |

| There is this stuff called Nilodor that I find in odd places like drugstores and supermarkets from time to time... might work. Has worked miracles (when I spilled milk in trunk of car) for me. But your description of the smell is not so far off what I remember from using Benjamin Moore's Ben (low VOC) paint a couple of months ago. However, that smell is now gone. KarinL |

| I once used some McCormick paint that had definitely gone bad. It smelled exactly like body odor, no joke. I painted over it, and fortunately the smell disappeared. |
