| Hi all, This is a guest bedroom in a 4 season cottage that is comprised of knotty pine ceiling and walls - overkill. I want to soften it a bit by painting the walls. Attached is a photo of a duvet cover I have for that room (Pottery Barn) - striped colors are blues, lavendar, greens and rusty / orangish red and whites. There are currently pastels on walls in adjoining rooms, but I like BOLD for more of an impact. Nearby rooms will have some grass green walls, and a rust ('Salsa') colored sofa. I found a pic of a boldish grey that I like (I'd probably go a little darker hue than the pic??), but unsure if this is the direction I want to go, so I'm open to feedback. This particular room is TINY, and I don't have furniture picked out yet. I'd love to get a linen or cream fabric headboard to finish this off. Greys are all across the board, so it would have to be a rich warm grey to flow with the warm colors in my house (not a cool grey). Thoughts? Suggestions? I'm open to new ideas aside from grey as I could always use that in another room. The window treatments throughout are sheer white linens and draping white scarves - keeps things brighter and airier. My decorating style is eclectic - traditional mixed with french country mixed with mexican motif. Bold and warm and cozy. If that makes sense. I'm also including a visual of the grass green I'm going for, and an example of how it works with greys. |

| I'd pick a strong but muted salmon or coral, slightly darker than the stripe, and have a salmon/gray or cream/gray stripe for the curtains. http://www.sherwin-williams.com/homeowners/color/find-and-explore-colo rs/paint-colors-by-family/SW6593-coral-bells/ Or make it different and use denim blue walls and denim ticking striped fabric for curtains. |
