Ralph Lauren paints --where to buy?

sayde

Ralph Lauren used to be carried at the Home Depot but no longer -- they got replaced by Martha Stewart. The nearest retail paint store that carries RL is now about 2 hours away.

I have heard many good things about the RL whites and ivories --colors that seem to work well in traditional settings. But where can I go to see and buy?

I did phone them and talked to a paint specialist who said she would send me some chips. But I would love to see the entire collection. Any thoughts?

Getting in the car and driving 2 hours would seem to be the only way to accomplish what you want to do.

Why would you want to do it in the first place. There are MANY, many better brands of paint readily available

I am on the hunt for RL paints. The other brands just dont have the texture [from River Rock line] nor colors that RL Paints have. You can find stores that still carry RL Paints through a link on the Ralph Lauren Home page:

Here is a link that might be useful: Ralph Lauren Home/Paints

River-Rock may be hard to find now!

We're not carrying it anymore, since last summer it was announced that RL was discontinuing it. Now this spring, rep's heard it wasn't dropped....yet.

Suede is pretty popular though, and easier to use than River-Rock.

I'll have to respectfully disagree with the esteemed Christophern here...this ONE time!
    * RL paint is considered/built-as a "Top-line" paint by Akzo-Nobel.
    * Solids content (PVS) is one of the best out there.
    * It's also been Low-VOC for many years now, though curiously not advertised as such very much?!
    * It's very popular here...no complaints from anyone. I actually prefer this paint over ACE!
    * I don't hesitant in the least to recommend it.

I am a fan of Ralph Lauren paint and colors I love the canvas finish and antique leather finish. Call Ralph Lauren and ask them where you to buy. I live in Florida and called and they told me there is a retailer in Fort Lauderdale.

I used to buy those when I was living in Mass.

They told me that they took away from Home Depot since they were not doing the right thing selling paintings without the tools for the finish. In other words they were doing a mess.

All paint companies can match other colors. Paint stores like a Sherwin Williams or Benjamin Moore are usually better at it then your typical lowes or home depot employees. RL is a nice paint, but comparing it to ACE is an insult to RL. All paint is good compared to ACE. Try Sherwin Williams Duration. I have tried almost everything and Nothing compares!

Lowes carries it (at least in my area they do).

I know you can easily buy it online. River Rock and Suede too.

    Try World Paint Supply.

Be careful buying it in another company's paint - the color of the base is likely to differ, which will change the color of the final paint.

There is no Lowe's in NYC and only a few, very obscure paint stores sell RL. It is one thing if Home Depot isn't carrying them. It is quite another if none of the mainstream or high end paint stores are. No idea what it means but I decided against the brand.

Contacted Ralph Lauren customer service today. Most unfortunately, they advised that their paint was totally discontinued in early 2017. Also mentioned there is no stock available. Such sad news as was a beautiful paint & beautiful colors

The PPG Metallics at Home Depot are the same color palette as the old Ralph Lauren. The names have changed, but your HD has the conversion names.

If you have the RL name or number and HD still has it in their database, they can mix it. Had 2 old colors replicated with Behr to touch this week. Spot on match to the old paint on walls. One more to go.

THANK YOU to everyone who commented on how to get HD to look up and convert the old RL paint formulas into their current stock of PPG or Glidden. You saved me tears, time, and stress in finding another company's match to the timeless, and in my opinion, best paint color palette there ever was (Ralph Lauren). So so sad to see them go, but how fortunate that HD still has all their color formulas!! Today was a huge win for my home remodel! Thank you!

For those people looking for custom paints of 'any' color, you can also try a custom paint supplier such as MyPerfectColor -- they're able to match Ralph Lauren's Paint Colors, and can also match more than 200,000 colors including Benjamin Moore, RAL, Pantone, etc.
