Painting over semi-gloss?

I'm getting ready to paint the kids bathroom. Years ago I sponge painted it with semi-gloss paint. I think I will just use satin or eggshell paint this time. Do I need to do anything special to the walls to paint over the sponging and the semi-gloss? Thanks

Clean them! Wash walls with Dirtex and let dry.

I would sand the walls with a pole sander to smooth away
any sponge marks, dust nibs, etc.

If it's already smooth enough for you, prime it with Zinsser 1 2 3 and then two coats of paint.
